GGLO promoted David Winans and Kevin Reed to senior associate; Tina Ritval, Jen Lien, Michael Lipko, Christine Harrington and Blake Williams to associate; and Tina Suh to marketing manager. Winans has been with the firm since 2004. He has managed multifamily and mixed-use projects, including Hjarta and AVA Queen Anne. He previously worked in Texas on institutional, office and retail projects. Reed designs housing, and has worked on high-rise multifamily, hospitality and neighborhood redevelopment. His recent work includes Alley 111. Ritval has a construction technology background and has worked on projects ranging from single tenant spaces to towers. Her recent work includes Urban Animal, a veterinary clinic on Capitol Hill. Lien has 17 years of experience that includes urban housing and public transit. She has been lead architect on projects, and is managing the design team for Seattle Civic Square, a planned 43-story mixed-use tower. Lipko joined the firm in 2013, and is project landscape architect for Avalon Newcastle. Harrington has been project manager and lead landscape architect on projects. Her work includes the 624 Yale mixed-use project in South Lake Union. Williams joined GGLO in 2013. He previously worked in design as a writer, educator, design-lead and collaborator on higher education projects. His projects include Trinsic West Seattle. Suh has experience in print advertising, publication layout, event promotion and direct marketing.

ZGF Architects hired Brent Rogers as a principal and senior designer in Seattle. Rogers has over 37 years of experience, most recently at NBBJ. He has led project design and worked in the commercial, mixed-use residential, tenant improvement and theater sectors. He is also a graduate design studio instructor at the University of Washington. Among his Seattle projects are Alley 24 and 223 Yale. He is working on Fifth + Columbia, a 44-story office and hotel tower in Seattle.

THA Architecture promoted Laurie Canup, Derek deVille, Nick Hodges, Stefee Knudsen, and Andrew Schilling to senior associate and Audrey Alverson to associate. Canup is an integrated design leader, whose previous projects include University of Oregon's Lewis Integrated Science Building. She is working on the Plant Growth Facility at Washington State University. DeVille was senior project architect on THA's first design/build project: Colonel Nesmith Readiness Center. He is working on a new dining hall for George Fox University. Hodges' projects include the Academic Classroom Building for Portland Community College's Cascade campus, and he is working on Oregon Episcopal School's new Lower School. Knudsen has over 20 years of experience in project management and design. She managed a vehicle processing project for the Juarez-Lincoln Port of Entry in Laredo, Texas, and is managing Oregon Episcopal School's Lower School. Schilling has 20 years of experience. He is senior project architect for UW's Denny Hall. He has taught at Portland State University and the University of Cincinnati. Alverson is senior marketing coordinator. She has a background in interior design and journalism. She has worked on new media and proposals for THA.

Seattle-based Caron Architecture hired Charles Wallace as a senior project manager, Lisa Berenson as senior interior designer, Chinatsu Thompson as an interior designer, Paul Wong as a project manager and Dylan Fuller as an architectural intern. Wallace has over 40 years as a principal architect and owner's representative. He has worked on hospitality, resort, high-rise, educational and institutional projects, and is managing mixed-use projects in Seattle and Reno. He was with Sienna Architecture. Berenson will lead the interior design department. She has 20 years of experience in multifamily, hospitality, education, office, retail, government, financial, health care and institutional projects. She is working on Othello Station North in Seattle. Thompson is an interior designer who has worked at Olson Kundig Architects and Callison. She has done residential and retail projects, and is working on TIs for Dish Network. Wong's projects have included multifamily, hospitality, health care, retail, educational and institutional. He is working on a 300-unit student housing project in Reno. Fuller worked at Humphreys and Partners Architects, and has experience in construction and fabrication. He is providing support on a 350-unit mixed-use project in Shoreline. Caron provides architecture, interior design, planning and real estate advisory services in partnership with an affiliate company, Norca Development Services.

In the Seattle office, Parametrix hired Ronnie Bennett as a senior construction manager to lead the construction services group. Bennett has done consulting and worked for public agencies, and recently managed capital improvement projects for Bothell. Parametrix provides engineering, planning, and environmental sciences, with offices in the western United States.

Sazan Group hired David DenHerder as a senior BIM modeler in Seattle. He has six years of mechanical and Revit MEP experience. Sazan provides mechanical and electrical engineering, information technology systems design, MEP commissioning, and owner representation services. It also has an office in Portland.

Gervelis

Stantec hired Gary Gervelis as a senior survey project manager in Anchorage. He will expand the firm's capabilities in Alaska and North America. He has over 36 years of experience, including more than a decade as land survey manager for Seattle, where he worked on Central Link light rail. He was the 2004 Washington State Surveyor of the Year. Stantec provides consulting in planning, engineering, architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, surveying, environmental sciences, project management and project economics.

Tim Strand joined Mayer/Reed as a landscape architect and project manager. He is working on Portland State University's School of Business Administration expansion and renovation. He has 11 years of experience in Portland and in the Bay Area. Portland-based Mayer/Reed provides urban design, landscape architecture, product design and graphic design.

Otak hired Brent Deets as a senior structural engineer and Shelby Petro as a wetland scientist in Redmond. Deets specializes in bridge design. He is working on trestle bridge retrofit projects, including the Sammamish River Trestle. Petro is working on Warren G. Magnuson Park wetland monitoring. Otak is an urban design, architecture, planning and engineering firm.

Sparling promoted Misty Ryan-Gonzales to project manager, technology. She is a technology consultant with more than 14 years of experience. She has been with Sparling for over eight years, and is working on Lincoln Square in Bellevue. Sparling provides electrical, technology, audiovisual, acoustical and lighting design services.

CG Engineering hired Carmel Gregory as a planner and will add land use and predevelopment planning to its services. Gregory has six years of experience in planning and architecture. She has worked on multifamily and church projects locally.

FFA Architecture and Interiors

Portland-based FFA Architecture and Interiors promoted Phillip Chubb to senior associate. Chubb has practiced architecture in the Northwest for over 25 years. He joined FFA in 2006, and is now project manager for Oregon State University's Bexell Hall rehabilitation. FFA provides architecture, planning, historic preservation and interior design.

Edmonds-based Landau Associates hired Jon Polka as a staff engineer in the environmental permitting and compliance group, and Becky Meggs as an accounting specialist II. Polka holds a bachelor's in civil/environmental engineering from Seattle University and a bachelor's in liberal studies from Thomas Edison State College. He has interned at Seattle Public Utilities and the city of Bothell and was in the U.S. Air Force. Meggs handles accounts payable. She has 23 years of accounting experience in the fishing and health care industries. Landau provides geotechnical and environmental engineering, remediation, permitting, and compliance services.
