Briggs does environmental and hydrogeologic assessment, permitting and water resources consulting in eastern Washington and manages the Spokane office. Borgeson does site investigations and groundwater remediation. Edmonds-based Landau Associates provides geotechnical and environmental engineering, remediation, permitting, and compliance services.

In Seattle, DLR Group hired Carla Weinheimer as a senior architect, Debbie Jung as a senior structural engineer, Hyunjin Im as a senior designer, Sabrina Ames as a project administrator and Kelly Mabry, Lauren Butts and Anthony Wocken as intern architects. Weinheimer has over 25 years of experience with courts, detention, police and city hall projects. At DLR, she leads teams designing justice projects in the Northwest. Jung has 12 years of experience with public school, water treatment and health care projects, and she worked on the New York Aquarium. Im works on projects in Asia. He has 18 years of architecture experience doing projects for brands such as Samsung and Four Seasons in the U.S. and in Asia. Ames is project administrator for DLR's justice and civic studio. Mabry has a bachelor of architecture degree from the University of Oregon. Butts holds a bachelor's in design - architecture from the University of Nebraska. Wocken has a master of architecture degree from North Dakota State University. DLR provides architecture, engineering, planning, interior design, and building optimization from offices in the U.S. and China.

Trindera Engineering hired Brian Miner as a project engineer in the automation department at its Spokane office. Miner is a computer electronics engineering and technology adjunct instructor at ITT Technical Institute and was a project engineer at Engineered Control Systems in Spokane. Trindera is an electrical and control systems engineering and consulting firm. It also has an office in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

The Blueline Group hired Mary Moore as a CAD drafter. Moore has over 10 years of experience with civil drafting. Blueline provides civil engineering consulting services.

NAC|Architecture hired Carla Thompson as chief marketing officer and Jenni Lachner as senior marketing coordinator. Thompson has more than 30 years of experience in the AE industry, most recently as global marketing director for MulvannyG2 Architecture. NAC said Thompson's experience and her national network will help its national presence in the education, health care, senior living, and recreation markets. Thompson will set marketing and sales strategies, and help get projects and increase brand awareness. Thompson is a fellow of the Society for Marketing Professional Services and is on the national board. Lachner has more than a decade of experience in the AE industry, most recently as senior marketing coordinator for Coughlin Porter Lundeen. NAC said she is well connected in Seattle and has a background in education and health care. She helps develop proposals, presentations and award submittals. NAC provides planning, design, engineering and consulting services.

Bassetti Architects named Caroline Lemay a principal. Lemay began practicing architecture in 1995 and joined Bassetti in 2002. Her work focuses on historic and K-12 projects. Raisbeck Aviation High School in Tukwila is among her projects. Bassetti has offices in Seattle and Portland.

Federal Way-based ESM Consulting Engineers promoted Eric LaBrie to president, Andy Martin to chairman and Zack Lennon to principal. It hired Scott Foster as a survey project manager and Raeline Garcia as a survey technician. LaBrie joined the firm in 2004 as director of planning, and has also taken on corporate responsibilities. Martin joined ESM over 25 years ago, became president in 2008 and led it through the economic downturn. ESM hired Lennon in 2012 as survey manager in Federal Way. Foster has worked on Tacoma Narrows Bridge and projects for Wal-Mart and WinCo Foods. Garcia graduated from the survey technician program at Renton Technical College, and has a year of experience as an instrument person. ESM provides civil engineering, surveying, land use planning and ancillary services. It also has an office in Everett.

Shannon & Wilson promoted Dave Cline, Neal McCulloch and Bob Mitchell to vice president and Mike Harney to associate in its Seattle headquarters. Cline oversees surface water, habitat, floodplain and shoreline restoration projects such as the Fir Island Farm Estuary. McCulloch does geotechnical solutions for railroads. Mitchell oversees geotechnical earthquake engineering infrastructure projects in the U.S. and Canada. His work has included Seattle Public Utilities buried reservoir seismic program. Harney is an engineer and project manager for geotechnical engineering projects, and has over a decade of experience in design, construction and research. The firm provides geotechnical engineering and environmental consulting.

The Watershed Co. hired Betsy Mann as marketing manager, Tess Brandon as an environmental planner, Rose Whitson as an ecologist and Cayce James as a landscape designer/graphic artist. Mann has over 24 years of marketing experience in the AEC industry. She will work on new business and visibility. Brandon has worked at the Port of Seattle and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Whitson worked on the Washington Department of Natural Resources' nearshore and aquatic reserves programs. James holds a masters of landscape architecture from the University of Washington where she was lab and grants manager for the Green Futures Lab. Watershed provides natural resources assessment and design, environmental planning and permitting, and landscape architecture services.

Sparling hired William Phelps as project manager in its technology practice. Phelps has over 35 years of experience as a technology consultant. He was director of facilities for the International School of Beijing, project director for Enlighted's domestic and international projects, and has designed and managed projects in a number of countries. He is working on upgrades at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. Sparling provides electrical, technology, audiovisual, acoustics and lighting design.

Gibbs & Olson hired Stephen McWilliams as a project engineer. McWilliams is working on road, site, sanitary sewer and water projects, and stormwater detention and infiltration systems. He graduated from University of Portland's civil engineering program. The Longview-based firm provides civil engineering and land surveying.
