Callas has seven years of industry experience and came to Lewis last year. He holds a bachelor's degree from Washington State University. Opp is focusing on TI work. He has been in construction for 10 years and holds a bachelor's degree in construction management from the University of Washington. Gonzalez has seven years of marketing and graphics experience. She holds a bachelor's degree from the UW and a master's degree from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. Noto has been an administrative professional for 19 years and holds a bachelor's degree in communication studies from New York University. Van Natta attended Pierce College.

Morr

Nate Morr joined Mortenson Construction as an estimator in the Kirkland office, and Dewey Amos transferred to the Seattle operating group as a field engineer on the University of Washington Tacoma Urban Solutions project. Morr's background is in estimating construction budgets for multifamily projects. He is a graduate of the University of Washington. Amos spent the past couple years working on wind turbine projects. He holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Pennsylvania State University.

Bouten Construction Co.

Spokane-based Bouten Construction Co. promoted Kreg Shelby to vice president of healthcare. Shelby is also working on the company's lean construction project delivery system. He joined Bouten in 2007 as a project manager, and holds a bachelor's degree in construction management from Washington State University.

Skanska USA

Skanska USA promoted Don Crotty to lead its Life Science Center of Excellence. In his new role, Crotty is assisting regional offices, including Seattle, on medical projects by universities, the federal government, and pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. He is based in Skanska's Oakland, California, office.

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers

Haider

Ruthann Haider of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers was selected to attend the John F. Kennedy School of Government Senior Executive Fellows at Harvard University. The month-long program is designed for upper-level Army managers who have advanced rapidly into senior positions and are now required to focus on “the larger picture” of the organization. Haider is chief of the Contracting Division of the Walla Walla District.

For its Seattle office, the Walsh Group hired Mike Bell as heavy civil construction executive, Eric VanHemert as heavy civil senior estimator, Gayane Aghazarian as BIM specialist, Matthew D. Miller as assistant project manager and Gregg Plummer as quality control manager. Bell has more than 25 years of transportation and infrastructure experience in the Northwest, and is a DBIA Professional. VanHemert has 20 years of experience, the last 12 years estimating large infrastructure projects throughout North America. Aghazarian is experienced as a BIM project engineer, IPD project engineer and 5-D estimator. Miller spent 11 years working on a variety of projects, from suspension and floating bridges to wing line assemblies and railroad spurs. Plummer was an inspector for seven years and then managed development in the city of DuPont.

The Seattle office of Abbott Construction hired Chris La Rue as project manager and Sidney Morris and Adam Evans as project engineers. La Rue holds a bachelor's degree in building construction management from Michigan State University and has managed healthcare projects for nine years. Morris holds a bachelor's degree in construction management from Louisiana State University and is working on the Ryther campus. Evans has eight years of mechanical engineering experience and is working on the Swedish Ballard Campus.

The Associated Builders and Contractors of Western Washington hired Claudia Pineda as membership development manager. Pineda was operations manager for Turning Point Realty Advisors and worked in membership development with the Washington Restaurant Association. She holds a bachelor's degree in communications from Goshen College.

AGC of Washington

Kearby

David Kearby, Central District manager of the Associated General Contractors of Washington, earned the Certified Association Executive designation, the highest professional credential in the association industry. The designation requires at least three years of experience managing nonprofits, 100 hours of specialized professional development, passing an exam and pledging to uphold a code of ethics.
