Schaefer

Howard S. Wright, a Balfour Beatty company, hired Neal Schaefer as senior superintendent and Roger McFarland as healthcare project executive, both in Seattle. Schaefer has 25 years of experience on projects ranging from high-rises to stadiums, and has worked with pile driving, concrete carpentry, forming systems, finish carpentry, and stone and tile. McFarland has 40 years of experience in healthcare, mission critical, government, higher education, life sciences and retail projects. He holds a bachelor's degree in operations research and logistics from the U.S. Naval Academy, and a master's degree in electrical engineering for power transmission and digital technology from Georgia Institute of Technology.

Novinium

Silkaitis

Kent-based Novinium hired Danius Silkaitis as engineering project manager. Silkaitis has experience in the medical and electrical device industries, and holds a bachelor's degree in engineering from the University of Michigan. Novinium has an injection process that rejuvenates and extends the life of cables up to 40 years.


CITC of Washington

The Construction Industry Training Council of Washington expanded its painting apprenticeship program statewide, and will hold a first year painting class next month in Spokane. Washington Commercial Painters, which recently opened a shop in Spokane, has several apprentices enrolled in the newly approved program. CITC now has 10 apprenticeship programs that have statewide approval.

Milgard Windows & Doors

Tacoma-based Milgard Windows & Doors won a 2016 Crystal Achievement Award for the most innovative window from Window & Door magazine. Milgard was recognized for its Essence Series of casement windows that combines a fiberglass exterior for weather protection with a solid wood interior for looks.
