The Seattle office of Lease Crutcher Lewis promoted Jordan Swanson to project manager and Josh Ditzenberger to assistant safety director; and hired Keith Kirby as senior project engineer, Leroy Taganna as BIM detailer, Dede Dunleavy as accounting assistant, and Toby Bloom and Alex Smoke as project engineers. Swanson has been with Lewis for three years. He started in construction in 2006 and holds a bachelor's degree in construction management from the University of Washington. Ditzenberger has been with Lewis since 2014 and holds a bachelor's degree in safety and health management from Central Washington University. Kirby is an engineer-in-training with experience as both a project engineer and superintendent. He holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the University of California, Davis. Taganna spent three years in the architectural/engineering drafting field. He earned a bachelor's degree in architecture at Eastern Visayas State University in the Phillippines, then completed his BIM training at North Seattle College. Dunleavy is working in accounts payable and is experienced in human resources, accounting and sales. She holds an associate's degree in business from North Seattle College. Bloom interned at Lewis last year and earned a bachelor's degree in construction management from the UW. Smoke is a former Navy submarine officer who holds a bachelor's degree in earth systems from Cornell University.

Eastside Rock Products

Tardiff

Eastside Rock Products hired Richard Tardiff as sales manager for the newly opened rock quarry in Fall City, which caters to the residential and commercial markets. Tardiff has been in sales for the aggregate industry for more than 18 years in the Pacific Northwest.

The winners are: Tradeswoman of the Year to Saskia Brown, carpenter foreman at Sellen Construction; Lifetime Achievement to Lori Frey, shipyard production superintendent at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, and Lee Newgent, executive secretary of the Washington State Building Trades; Active Advocate to Leanne Guier, political director of United Association Local 32 and Mayor of Pacific; Workplace Leader to Hope Honeywell, assistant product line manager at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard; Union Activist to Christina Daniels, inside wireman at JH Kelly/IBEW member, and Evelyn Shapiro, director of labor compliance/instructor at United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Pacific Northwest Regional Council of Carpenters; Tradeswoman of Tomorrow to Marquia Wooton, forklift operator apprentice on the SR 520 Bridge project; Peggy Cook Apprentice Award to Ashley Jones, heavy mobile electrician apprentice at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard; and Woman of Courage to Milissa Corrigan, electrician with Seattle City Light. Ash Grove Cement Co.

Ash Grove Cement Co. hired Kevin Hoffman as sales representative in the Bellevue office. Hoffman's territory covers Western and Central Washington, as well as Alaska. He spent the last five years at Price Waterhouse Coopers LLP. He holds a bachelor's degree in business administration and finance from the Michael G. Foster School of Business at the University of Washington.

Jorian Bradford joined The Walsh Group as superintendent. Bradford previously worked at Skanska USA Building. At Walsh, he is working on preconstruction for a seismic upgrade project in Everett for a private developer.

Casey Carson joined Bellevue-based Powell Construction Co. as project engineer. Carson previously worked at BNBuilders. He has experience in commercial buildings, tenant improvements, public works, site management, document controls and estimating. He holds a master's degree in construction management from Central Washington University.

Mike Morrison, founder and president of Value Management Consulting in Redmond, was re-certified as a Cost Consultant Professional by AACE International. Morrison has been continuously certified in three-year increments that AACE International maintains since 1977. His company provides value engineering, cost estimating and constructability reviews.

Sierra Construction Co.

Woodinville-based general contractor Sierra Construction Co. recently celebrated its 30th anniversary. The company was founded by brothers Bob and Roger Collins with a start-to-finish approach that involves Sierra in all phases of work: site selection, design, permitting and construction. Bob was in charge of field operations and Roger took care of office administration, bidding and marketing. Bob died in December 1992, but Roger carried on with the company.

Abbott Construction

Abbott Construction unveiled a new logo and the tagline “Built True. Built Together.” The company says the logo and tagline honor its past, reflect who it is today and symbolize its future. Abbott also changed the URL of its website to abbottconstruction.com. Abbott is based in Seattle with regional offices in Portland and Los Angeles. John McGowan is president and CEO, and Troy Stedman is chief operating officer.
