Local architects say niches helping as economy slows

    Local architecture firms know times are tough. The credit crunch and a national recession have put many private projects here on hold and raised questions about the future of others. Meanwhile, government budget shortfalls and worries about getting bonds or levies passed are causing uncertainty about some public projects.
