This viaduct job is proceeding as planned

  • SDOT will open bids on June 24 for the second phase of the Spokane Street Viaduct. The main contract is expected to be worth $68 million to $80 million.

    Workers last month installed the walls of a water-quality vault below South Spokane Street, just west of Sixth Avenue South to treat runoff. Construction of the vault was recently completed.

    It's slow, cramped, traffic-choked and, thankfully, getting a big makeover.
