Bike & Build: National nonprofit combines fundraising, construction and a 4,000-mile ride

    Route leader Erin Potter from Beloit College in Wisconsin raised $4,620 for affordable housing. Nine days of the trip were spent building projects for nonprofits.

    Seattle residents consider themselves athletic, but nothing like the group of bike riders that arrived at Golden Gardens Tuesday. Thirty-two people between 18 and 25 years old celebrated completion of a 3,973-mile bike ride that started in Providence, R.I., on June 13.
