Everyone knows when it comes to real estate, success hinges on three factors: location, location and location. Loren Chotzen says to add a fourth factor to the mix: philosophy.
Chotzen is president of The Landmark Group, a boutique real estate company housed in what was one of Seattle oldest gas stations. He could have ripped down the brick beauty at East Madison and Lake Washington Boulevard and built a bland-and-tan apartment complex on the busy corner, across the street from Washington Park Arboretum. Instead, he showed restraint and set about restoring the structure and some surrounding buildings.
