Real Estate Buzz: Rumor mill churns on 2nd & Pine

We found it interesting last week when Hines' Rob Hollister mentioned that his company is interested in pursuing not only office investments — Hines' traditional niche in the Northwest — but housing as well.
So imagine our intrigue when the rumor mill began churning with reports that Hines — one of the largest privately held real estate development, investment and management companies in the world — is taking a run at the prime site at Second and Pine in downtown Seattle. Today, the parcel is a surface parking lot, due west of Macy's garage.
