Mithun promoted Allison Orr, Amy Lindemuth, Andrew Diehl, Jason King, Josh Distler, Marna Abrams, Matthew Dunbar and Reid Caudill to senior associate in Seattle and Katharine Favret to senior associate in San Francisco. Mithun provides architecture, landscape architecture, interior design, urban design and planning.
MLA Engineering hired Jeff Thompson as a senior engineer and Linda Ji as a design engineer. Thompson has over 15 years of experience on airport, maintenance facility, education, mixed-use residential, hospital and house projects. Ji has over four years of experience in the industrial and defense industry on maintenance facility, renovation, power substation and marine infrastructure projects. MLA is a Seattle-based structural engineering firm.
In Seattle, DCI Engineers promoted Steve Lidicker to associate principal and Matthew Frisby to associate. Lidicker is a project engineer and manages multi-family podium and single-family projects. His work includes Modera Dexter Apartments. Frisby provides civil engineering support for mixed-use, hospitality, office, storage, parking, road and residential projects, and does urban space planning. DCI is a civil and structural engineering firm.
Edmonds-based Landau Associates hired Lizzie Zemke as a senior scientist. The wetland scientist has 25 years of experience managing environmental permitting projects. She works on wetland, ecological restoration and natural resources permitting projects. Landau provides geotechnical and environmental engineering, environmental site management, and permitting and compliance services.
Kirkland-based Dibble Engineers hired Joanne Bayuga as a senior project manager. Bayuga has over 15 years of experience as a structural engineer on high-rise hotel and housing, warehouse, house and dormitory projects, including work in Abu Dhabi.
NetFortris, a secure cloud communication firm, has appointed COO Kevin Dickens and CFO Gene Carr as co-CEOs, replacing Grant Evans who will remain on the board of directors. NetFortris has headquarters in Seattle and Plano, Texas. It provides scalable, cloud-based voice and data communications.
Centerstage Theatre Arts Conservatory named actor/director and Federal Way resident Trista Duval as interim artistic director. Duval will replace retiring Artistic Director Alan Bryce. She was arts director at Overcomer Church in Federal Way. Centerstage is Federal Way's resident professional theatre company, founded in 1977.
The Seattle office of Lease Crutcher Lewis promoted Beth Pepin to cost engineer; and hired Jim Stefansson as senior estimator; Phil Johnson as project manager; Ushik Shah as project engineer and VDC coordinator; Charity MacDowell, Shalin Shah and Matt Crowley as project engineers; and Francis Jaros and Lyndi Richmond as BIM detailers. Pepin has been with Lewis for four years and was in the construction management field before that. She holds a bachelor's degree and a construction management certificate from the University of Washington. Stefansson has 35 years of experience in estimating and preconstruction, as well as project management and carpentry. He holds a bachelor's degree in economics from the UW. Johnson has 13 years of experience in mechanical design-build and general contracting, and holds a bachelor's degree from Western Washington University. Ushik Shah, LEED GA, earned his master's degree in construction management from Purdue University in 2014 and a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the University of Pune. MacDowell has seven years of construction experience, and holds a bachelor's degree in construction management from Cal State Chico. Shalin Shah has four years of construction experience, and holds a master's degree in civil engineering from Stanford. Crowley, PE, has five years of experience in design and construction, and holds bachelor's degrees in civil engineering from Clemson University and applied physics from Coastal Carolina University. Jaros has been a carpenter, field supervisor and owner of a contracting firm for over 24 years. He holds an associate's degree in architectural drafting from Lake Washington Tech. Richmond recently earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Washington State University Everett, where she was an officer at the Society of Women Engineers.
Tacoma-based Korsmo Construction added Karin Hill as office manager, Eric Guizzetti as virtual design and construction manager, Kim Kolzow as marketing coordinator, Bryan Ryerse as project manager, and Lee Hoffman and Joe Shoemaker as project engineers. Kolzow has over 20 years of experience in marketing, and holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from Oregon State University. Ryerse has over 10 years of construction experience, and holds a master's degree in communications from Eastern Washington University. Hoffman has over 10 years of field experience as a project manager for various subcontractor trades. Shoemaker holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, with a minor in construction management, from Washington State University.
The NAWIC Education Foundation awarded the 2017 Carol A. Kueker Construction Education Visionary Award to Kathleen Garrity, retired president of the Associated Builders and Contractors of Western Washington. Garrity received the award for being a long-time advocate of educational opportunities in the construction industry at all levels: leadership, management, craft and safety. She was a co-founder of the Construction Industry Training Council of Washington, a joint venture of several construction associations that provides craft and apprenticeship training. She also helped provide management training to women and minority contractors.
