Seattle-based Shannon & Wilson appointed vice presidents Meg Strong and Bob Mitchell to its board of directors. Strong is a geologist/hydrogeologist and group leader of the environmental department. She has over 27 years of experience managing, investigating and providing strategy for environmental issues for corporations and municipalities. Mitchell joined the firm in 1997. He specializes in geotechnical and geotechnical earthquake engineering for design-build and design-bid-build projects in North America. The geotechnical and environmental engineering firm has over 300 employees in 12 offices in the U.S.

In Seattle, Environmental Science Associates hired Pam Xander as a principal associate. Xander has over 30 years of experience doing environmental studies and has worked on projects requiring State Environmental Policy Act/National Environmental Policy Act processes. She has consulted for other local firms and ran her own firm specializing in SEPA and permitting for 18 years. Her work has included the Space Needle renovations. ESA is an environmental planning and design firm.

Engineering and professional services consultancy WSP USA named Stephen Kambol a senior project manager in Seattle, responsible for management, design and delivery of large rail projects. Kambol has nearly four decades of experience in engineering, management, business development and client service, focused on highway and rail projects. He was Pacific Northwest rail/transit department manager for an international engineering firm.

In Everett, Reid Middleton hired Angie Upchurch as a human resources generalist and Kendra Tappe as an office assistant. Upchurch has 14 years of HR experience and manages the firm's HR functions. Tappe has four years of experience and assists with administrative tasks. Reid Middleton provides structural and civil engineering, land surveying and permitting services.

Hill is human resource director. She over 20 years of experience, specializing in employee relations, wellness and culture definition. Mullaley is in the electrical engineering group, and is working on the new Quincy High School. Durgan is an architectural designer working on Spokane City Hall exterior renovation. NAC provides planning, design, engineering and capital facilities consulting services.

City of Kenmore

Horvath

The city of Kenmore hired Peter Horvath as chief of police. Horvath was interim chief. He is a 26-year veteran of King County Sheriff's Department. Horvath takes over from Cliff Sether, who was the city's first police chief after incorporation in 1998. The city contracts with King County for law enforcement.

Northwest Kidney Centers

McNamara

Northwest Kidney Centers hired Elizabeth McNamara as vice president of patient care services and chief nursing officer. McNamara was assistant administrator for patient care services at Harborview Medical Center.

Estate Planning Council of Seattle

The Estate Planning Council of Seattle has new officers for 2018-19: Carla Wigen of Wells Fargo Private Bank is president; Ronald Nagle of Peterson Sullivan is immediate past president; Kathryn Garrison of Moss Adams Wealth Advisors is president-elect; Steven Schindler of Perkins Coie is treasurer; and Jolene Cox of Deloitte Tax is secretary.
