Gull Industries of Seattle bought the landmark Iron Springs Resort on the Washington coast from the heirs of a little-known real estate pioneer, Olive Little. This is the first time the property has sold since 1947, when Little and her husband, Harold, bought it.
Flush from the $17.8 million sale of a parcel near Safeco Field, Gull bought the resort on Copalis Beach for $1.66 million cash, according to Gary Hunter, a Colliers International broker who put the deal together. Realizing that Gull had money to invest and hearing that the company owners had frequented the resort, he contacted the True family and learned they were interested.
