Bellevue-based brokers Ted Gibbons and Lauren Bear are part of a group that for the past eight years has worked on forming an office REIT that will trade on the Costa Rican stock exchange.
The real estate investment trust that the group has nearly finished creating will buy properties leased to U.S. governmental agencies. Its stock will be sold mostly to Latin American pension funds that are being freed from having to invest only in their own countries, allowing them to chase higher returns.
