Decatur Building refinanced

Alibaba has an office in the Decatur Building.

Stuart Oswald of NorthMarq Capital's Seattle office arranged $16.5 million in refinancing for the Decatur Building at 1511 Sixth Ave. in Seattle.

The Chinese e-commerce company Alibaba recently opened an office there and Synapse Product Development is also a major tenant.

Retail tenants include Mario's, Morton's The Steakhouse and Bocz Salon.

NorthMarq Capital says it has a loan portfolio of more than $45 billion, and $12 billion in annual production.

Andrew Shook joins A10 Capital

A10 Capital of Boise has hired Andrew Shook as senior executive vice president in charge of originating new loans nationally. Shook has more than 20 years of real estate finance experience. He was part of the founding team of Resource Capital Corp, and he co-founded Ischus Capital Management with Resource America. Shook ran a multi-billion dollar portfolio at HSBC Bank, and he has held senior positions in Bank of America's US and European divisions. A10 says it is a non-bank, middle-market commercial real estate lender that focuses on bridge loans ranging from $1 million to $20 million.

CHH hires real estate director

Greg Elkerton will be Capitol Hill Housing's new director of real estate and impact investments. Elkerton has more than 15 years of development, financing and construction experience, specializing in affordable housing and mixed-use projects. Elkerton was a development consultant to Homestead Community Land Trust. He also managed housing development at Common Ground for nine years and at SouthEast Effective Development for four years. CHH owns 44 buildings housing more than 2,000 people.

Land Advisors adds sales coordinator

Land Advisors Organization added Morgan Swanson as sales and operations coordinator. Land Advisors recently established a presence in this area when it bought Bellevue-based Cameron Land Group. Land Advisors says it is the nation's largest brokerage focused solely on land, with offices in Arizona, California, Florida, Idaho, New Mexico, Nevada, Texas and Utah.

Fleming is CHH deputy director

Jill Fleming has been promoted to deputy director of Capitol Hill Housing. She has been chief financial officer since 2006, and will retain that title. Over the last eight years, the CHH budget has grown from $7 million to $17.5 million. Fleming was instrumental in financing 12th Avenue Arts, which CHH called one of the most complex affordable housing deals in Washington. Fleming also worked in public accounting with developers, owners and managers of affordable housing. CHH owns 44 Seattle buildings that house more than 2,000 people.

Smart new VP at Clise

Clise Properties hired Seattle attorney Doug Smart as vice president and general counsel. Smart specializes in commercial real estate, finance and corporate planning. He was at Miller Nash Graham & Dunn, and has been a shareholder since 2000. Clise Properties was founded in 1889, and owns and manages more than 3 million square feet in Washington.

The Portland and Seattle branches of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Northwest Real Estate have merged to create a regional brokerage. Jason Waugh, current president and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices in Portland will be president and CEO of the combined company. Mike Gain, a 38-year real estate veteran and current president and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices in Seattle, will be chairman emeritus. The brokerage will have 725 real estate professionals. For 2014, closed sales for the firms totaled $2.2 billion.

Redfin hires Bloomberg reporter

Lorraine Woellert has joined Seattle-based brokerage Redfin as senior real estate correspondent. Woellert will contribute commentary on market trends, policy developments and industry news relevant to buyers, sellers and renters. Woellert worked at Bloomberg News, reporting on housing and mortgage policy, the economy and national politics.

Everett preview at Seattle Boat Show

The Port of Everett will hold a VIP preview event for its $330 million Waterfront Place Central mixed-use project on Friday at the 2015 Seattle Boat Show at CenturyLink Field.
