Joanna Hawkins joined the Bellevue office of Parametrix. Hawkins has nine years of experience in hydrographic and geophysical operations. She has managed local, national and international projects. Current projects include salvage operations in Singapore, West Point outfall inspections at Elliott Bay and a survey of Hell Hole Canyon in Sacramento, Calif.

Ellen Watson was appointed principal in the company's headquarters in Sumner. She will manage 90 employees. Watson is an environmental scientist and specializes in hazardous, radioactive and waste remediation. Doug Berschauer, who has been with the firm for 16 years, switched from principal to program manager for the water and wastewater business line.

Karen Cantillon joined the natural resources group in the Bellevue office. Her expertise is in NEPA and ESA studies, writing and editing. She is an editor of a draft EIS for essential fish habitat identification and conservation in Alaska.

Integrus Architecture promoted Timothy J. White to associate in Spokane. Structural engineer Thomas M. Corcoran was promoted to associate in Seattle. White was project manager for U.S. embassies in Colombia and Mali, and an expansion to the Spokane Convention Center. Corcoran has 20 years experience on structural work for maintenance facilities and administration buildings.

Group Mackenzie appointed Susan B. Higbee vice president. The firm promoted Tamio Fukuyama to director of architecture and Matthew W. Butts to director of civil and traffic engineering. Higbee has more than 25 years of interior design experience and has overseen tenant improvements for Equity Office Properties and Suntek Park Co.

Fukuyama has more than 32 years of architecture experience as a project manager and will lead a team of 30. He managed high tech projects for Fujimi America and Sumco, formerly Mitsubishi Silicon.

Butts will lead a team of 15 and is working on roadway improvements in Oregon. Group Mackenzie provides architectural, interiors, engineering and planning services. It has offices in Portland, Seattle, Tacoma and Vancouver.

Sparling

Sparling named Eric Overton president and Arne Berger vice president and chief financial officer.

Overton joined the firm in 1985. As president, he is responsible for business development, clients and operations. Overton recently completed planning and hiring staff to open a new office in Portland. Berger joined in 1990 to manage design of health care projects in Washington, Alaska and California. Berger will work on accounting, internal technology, information systems and administrative departments. He recently completed leasing and tenant improvements for the Portland office. Jim Duncan, Tom Leonidas, Jr., and Julie Benezet were re-elected to Sparling's board of directors.

Sarah Allen is an administrative assistant for Sparling's Seattle office. Allen works in office management, administrative support and client services. Donna Waiss is a project accounting specialist in the Lynnwood office with more than 14 years of project accounting experience in the engineering industry. Kelly Wicklund, also based in Lynnwood, worked on administrative support at AT&T Wireless and Environmental Health Sciences. Sparling is a specialty electrical engineering and technology consulting firm with offices in Seattle and Portland.

Lachel Felice & Associates named Ken Faught area manager in its Kirkland office. Faught will work on drilled shaft integrity testing, construction engineering and marketing. He has 35 years experience and has completed projects in the Arctic and the tropics. Lachel Felice is an underground engineering, deep foundation and geotechnical design firm headquartered in Golden, Colo., with offices in Atlanta; Morristown, N.J.; Occoquan, Va.; Columbus, Ohio; and Las Vegas. The company specializes in tunnel design, drilled shaft design, advanced structural and geotechnical designs, numerical modeling services and construction engineering.

Higa Burkholder Associates hired Allisona Greenberg as landscape designer and planner. She has worked on residential and institutional landscape architecture projects. Kristin Pedersen is a civil engineer with a master's degree from University of Washington in urban planning and transportation. Michael Gruzensky is a civil engineer. Jake Libaire is a planner who has worked on contracts for cities and engineering firms. Steven Waldrop is a drafting technician.

Inca Engineers

Dale Lydin joined Inca Engineers in Bellevue as a transportation department senior project manager. He has more than 15 years of engineering experience, including five as a project manager with the city of Lynnwood. Inca consults on civil, structural, mechanical and electrical engineering for public agencies, municipalities, private developers and the military.

Skillings-Connolly, an 80-person engineering, environmental and surveying firm, added James "Mac" McKenzie as survey party chief to manage survey crew. Design engineer Amanda Heye will work on water, sewer and transportation projects. Skillings-Connolly is headquartered in Lacey, with offices in Missoula, Mont., Vancouver and Boise.

Bill Chaput and Tom Chapel were named associates at Hutteball & Oremus Architecture. The Kirkland-based firm works on educational facilities for Western Washington school districts. Vancouver-based engineering firm Hopper Dennis Jellison made changes to its staff. Billy J. Stephenson is lead inspector on a road project and Ryan Knox will provide inspection for the firm's design and construction sections. William Amata will work on inspection for the city of Vancouver. Design engineer Travis G. Johnson, a recent Oregon State University graduate, will work on residential projects. Sarah J. Hawks is an assistant landscape designer.

Lewis County's transportation department recently awarded the company a two-year contract. Stacy J. Frost will work in this section. Katherine E. Bell will work on site development.

Jennifer L. Shields is now an assistant planner. Yvonne K. Rodgers and Mandy M. Bullick are administrative staff. Nathan J. Machiela joined the Pasco branch office as project engineer. Jason L. Mattox, a recent graduate of Gonzaga University, will work on commercial and residential project design. Earlier this year Robert L. Steinbarge retired after 15 years with the company.

Berryman & Henigar

The Seattle office of Berryman & Henigar announced that Erika Schuyler and Darin Rogers recently obtained their professional engineer registrations from the state of Washington.

Schuyler has five years of experience in civil and environmental engineering on wastewater and water projects for the Roosevelt Water Association, Woodinville Water District, King County and the cities of Sultan, Bainbridge Island, Monroe and North Bend.

Rogers has six years of experience in civil engineering, and related technical experience on solid waste, stormwater, wastewater and transportation projects for Renton, Marysville, Sultan and King and Kitsap counties.

Robert Green is design director for Callison Architecture. He will direct interior design. Green was vice president and design director for Gensler's San Francisco, Los Angeles and London offices, and has worked on projects in Germany, Switzerland and Kuwait. Callison does retail, hospitality, residential and health care design and is based in Seattle.
