Louis Klusmeyer was promoted to project manager at Berger/ABAM Engineers' Seattle office. Klusmeyer leads evaluation of steel dolphins throughout the Washington State Ferries system.

The company also promoted people at its headquarters in Federal Way. Kelly Pitera is an engineer. Brian Lorence is a senior assistant information and technology administrator. Kare Hjorteset is a project manager leading the offshore and floating structure group and overseeing a test pier for the U.S. Navy.

Naomi Selove-Schneider is lead engineer for a Duvall Avenue reconstruction project in Renton. Jeff Kilborn is project engineer and leads a 30-year plan to rehabilitate and assess the Washington State Ferries' Eagle Harbor maintenance facility. Project engineer Markus Wernli specializes in seismic assessment. Michael McDonagh is a project engineer for a bridge replacement at Elwha River. Myles Parrish is a senior engineer working on a storage structure for the U.S. Navy.

David Bick is a senior project manager in Portland. He leads the city of Hood River's water transmission main and Windmaster area sanitary sewer projects. Tom Kress is project manager and engineer for a Port of Tacoma widening project. Jilma Jimenez is a project engineer who worked on Manzanillo International Terminal development in Colon, Republic of Panama. Lynette Rice is a CAD operator.

Berger/ABAM consults on project management, civil and structural engineering, and has offices in Portland and Las Vegas.

Transportation engineer Naveen Juvva specializes in modeling, forecasting and simulation. Juvva worked on state transportation projects and has done local traffic impact studies. Intern Michelle Newman supports traffic analysis.

Project manager and landscape designer Jan Satterthwaite of Tacoma's Bruce Dees & Associates earned U.S. Green Building Council LEED accreditation. Satterthwaite is working on several LEED-focused projects, including demonstration gardens for the Tacoma Police Department, entry and gateway design for the port of Tacoma, the Sinclair Inlet estuary restoration and Seabeck waterfront design.

Seattle landscape architecture firm Site Workshop added Susan Eastman as a landscape architect and project manager. Eastman has 23 years of experience and is managing projects for Everett Community College, Silverlake Center and Valley Medical Center. Carolyn Salisbury joined the firm, and will work on design, management and fieldwork as a landscape designer.

Stephen Thomas joined Golder Associates' Redmond office as senior hydrogeologist. He works on surface and groundwater projects such as basin management, artificial recharge and flow modeling. Thomas helped municipalities develop groundwater resources as project hydrogeologist at Camp Dresser & McKee in its Bellevue and Irvine, Calif., offices. Golder is a global group of consulting companies that specialize in ground engineering and environmental services.

Hammond Collier Wade Livingstone

The civil engineering firm Hammond Collier Wade Livingstone announced Scott Edwards has earned Washington State Professional Land Surveyor designation. Edwards has worked on topographic, boundary and route surveys, as well as construction staking.

Spokane-based Northwest Architectural Co. promoted Thomas Golden to principal, Melissa McFadgen and Klint Fisher to associates, and Trish Buzan to CAD manager.

Golden is principal project manager for a Spokane research technology center and project manager for a new high school. McFadgen has been with the company for four years and is project architect for an elementary school in Auburn. Fisher is project designer for an athletic center at a Spokane school. Buzan will work on peripheral software and lead the firm's CAD training sessions.

Northwest provides architectural, planning, electrical and communications engineering, interior design, and capital facilities consulting, with offices in Seattle, Spokane and Coeur d'Alene.

Structural CAD designers Ealy and Roberson will perform quality control checks on projects after permit submittal. Wilkinson is working on interior planning and design services for Coldwater Creek and the Newport School District. Interior designer Heidi Plumb has worked on hospitals, banks, offices and schools. Among Plumb's current projects are the CentrePlace Office Building in downtown Spokane.

Based in Spokane and the Tri-Cities, ALSC Architects provides planning and design services for education, retail and recreation clients.

Paul Diedrich has been named principal at KPFF Consulting Engineers, where he has helped build KPFF's biotechnology and laboratory design practice. Diedrich is overseeing work for Sabey Corp.'s new biotech facility on the Swedish Providence campus. Recent projects include the Helix Project on Seattle's waterfront and work for other large pharmaceutical companies.

Diedrich was a principal and director of engineering at Seattle-based TRA for 18 years, where he specialized in aviation management and design for more than 50 airports worldwide.
