U.S. Army Corps Engineers

James "Matt" Rabe is the new public affairs officer for the U.S. Army Corps Engineers in Portland. He has 14 years of federal service, 11 with the Corps. Diana Brimhall retired earlier this year after 36 years of federal service.

Schwer joined as a mechanical associate and has nearly 20 years of experience in mechanical design. He also teaches architectural engineering at the University of Oregon's Department of Architecture.

Pacific Surveying & Engineering has opened an office in Bothell. Ken Swindaman was named partner and manager, and will lead operation and business development. Swindaman was a senior surveyor for CH2M Hill and has 15 years of surveying experience. New field survey manager Gary Borne was also with CH2M Hill. Pacific Surveying & Engineering is headquartered in Bellingham.

Seattle-based Sparling added Ronald Ropp as an information technology consultant and Jiayuan Luo as a CAD drafter in Portland. Ropp focuses on network architecture and business operations. Luo has provided CAD services to Portland engineering firms for 10 years, including construction plans and system engineering drawings for W&H Pacific. Sparling is an electrical engineering and technology consulting firm.

PND added Matt Graham to its Seattle office. Graham received his bachelor's in civil engineering from Union College in Schenectady, N.Y. He is working on designs for the Port of Seattle's Terminal 25. He has done on-site tower inspections and structural analysis at Tower Engineering Corp. in Lynnwood.

Hennebery Eddy Architects

Breese Watson joined Hennebery Eddy Architects as a senior interior designer. Watson has 18 years of experience in office, retail, resort and urban multi-family housing projects. He is working on Portland's Westin and Mallory hotels. Hennebery Eddy Architects is a Portland-based architectural, interior design and planning firm.

The Portico Group

Seattle-based The Portico Group added landscape architect Maren Coleman as project manager for the city of Bremerton's Harborside Park and Memorial Plaza project. Designer James Pase is working on an exhibit at Utah's Hogle Zoo. Birgit Soderlund is a designer working on a park and zoo project in San Jose. Fred Redmon is an architect working on an arctic shores exhibit for the Calgary Zoo. Eric Blank is an architect and project manager working on a shark exhibit for New York Aquarium. Others on this project are exhibit designer Richard Larson and designer Michael Lombardi. Portico does architecture, landscape architecture and exhibit design.

Integrus Architecture

Integrus Architecture hired Upendra N. Trivedi as structural engineer. Trivedi has 32 years of experience with a focus on structural design for educational facilities. He is working on two high school projects in Washington state. Tami S. Tedrow-Howard was named director of business development. Tedrow-Howard has 18 years of business development and marketing experience. Integrus does architecture, planning, interior design and structural engineering, and has offices in Seattle and Spokane.

ORB Organization

Geoff A. Anderson has joined The ORB Organization as associate principal. Anderson has eight years of experience as a project architect, including work at University of Washington, public works and housing authorities, and Marriott Hotels. ORB is a commercial architectural and engineering firm that specializes in government/military projects, housing, and parks and recreation work.
