Seattle-based Web developer Saltmine hired Eric Totherow and Bryan Nisperos as software engineer developers. Gina Heyer is a controller and Jeff Glasser is an associate project manager. Saltmine offers e-commerce systems development, online branding and graphic design. It has offices in Seattle, Portland and London.

Electrical engineering firm Sparling promoted Chris Fote and Bryan Yoshida to associates at its Seattle office. Fote heads the sports lighting practice, and designs lighting and security systems for hotels and offices. Yoshida will continue in design and project management of electrical systems for large-scale health care and mixed-use facilities.
Zipper Zeman Associates added John R. Zeman as a senior client manager. He has 12 years of technical and managerial experience in geotechnical engineering. Jon M. Einarsen has joined as a senior geologist, assessing environmental sites and geologic hazards. Jonah Stinson and Amy Gamble have joined as laboratory/field technicians. Zipper Zeman Associates provides geotechnical engineering, environmental consulting and engineering geology services. Its offices are in Lynnwood, Seattle and Tacoma.
Seattle's Weber + Thompson added architectural employees Jeff Dobbs, Matthew Ellenwood, David Smith and Marc Furst. Dobbs was a designer with the waterproofing consulting firm Exterior Research and Design, and is providing technical design and detailing for Weber + Thompson's high-rise construction team. Ellenwood has worked in Uttaranchal, India, where he helped design the Nagpur Regional Center. He's working on mixed-use apartment development in Seattle's South Lake Union area. Smith is working on mid-rise mixed-use apartments in Seattle. Furst is working on senior housing. He was at AKS designing military offices and housing. Front desk manager Jennie Robison supervised teams of telephone agents at West Marketing in Erie, Penn. Weber + Thompson specializes in architecture, interior design and planning.
Pacific Engineering Design, a Renton-based civil engineering and planning firm, announced the promotion of two employees to partner: Darrin Sanford and Lou Larsen. Sanford and Larsen have managed multi-family, commercial and single-family projects in the Puget Sound region for 10 years.
Jeff Albert has been named an associate at KPFF Consulting Engineers. He is a structural engineer and is working on the Southwest Washington Medical Center in Vancouver. Other projects include Bainbridge Island City Hall, Village at Mammoth Lakes, Calif., and Redmond Town Center.
Mithun added architects Michael Omura and Bill LaPatra. Both were principals at Zimmer Gunsul Frasca. Omura was a principal for higher education, civic and private commercial projects. LaPatra was design principal for commercial and academic markets. Omura designed 12 libraries around the state and three World Trade Center office buildings in Seattle. He will work on design and business development in these markets. LaPatra will head business development efforts for civic and institutional projects, which are the kinds of spaces he has designed in the past.

Wells joined Weber + Thompson to work with the master planned communities team. He was most recently employed at DLR Group. At Weber + Thompson, Wells is working on several multifamily projects.
Joining as a project manager, Frank focuses on condo interiors and common amenity spaces. She is a graduate of the Art Institute of Seattle, and has experience designing residential interiors for condo projects in Seattle and Bellevue. Bates will work on residential interiors and hospitality. She earned a bachelor's of interior architecture from the University of Oregon and worked at Mahlum Architects before coming to Weber + Thompson. She is designing condo units and amenities for Kirkland and Belltown projects.
Marasigan recently graduated from the Art Institute of Portland with a B.S. in interior design. She manages the resource library and handles vendors and contractors. Henderson, who joined the graphics team, has designed brands and Web sites for non-profit and for-profit organizations. She was recently in charge of graphic design at Geise Architects.

Rob Curry joined as senior project manager and has 20 years of experience. Senior interior designer Karen Niemi is working on programming and space planning for Knowledge Learning Center's corporate headquarters. Project manager Eric Wilcoxis project architect for the Vancouver Hotel and Conference Center. Project designer Tim Ganey has an architecture degree from a school in Edinburgh, Scotland, and is working on a multi-family housing project in Camas. Architectural intern Josh Partee is working on a high-rise mixed-use project in Portland's Pearl District.
Bellevue structural engineering firm Cary Kopczynski & Co. promoted Melissa Shelton to marketing coordinator. She will work on proposals, public relations and marketing. Shelton's past work is in marketing, business development and public relations.
