Megan Nedzinski joined GGLO as an architect. She is LEED accredited and is working on renovation of the Cobb Building in downtown Seattle. Stephen Gibson is LEED accredited and is acting as project manager on a full-block, mixed-use development in Portland's Pearl District with a grocery store, parking and office space. Tatiana Kirova joined as a project architect and LEED accredited designer with 16 years of experience. She is currently working on mixed-use projects in South Lake Union and the Westlake area. Architectural intern Erin Parker joined the team for a residential condominium project in the South Lake Union neighborhood. Project architect, Carl Dominguez brings seven years of experience to GGLO. He joined the team for Western & Clay, a multifamily residential project in Seattle. Project manager Doug Powell has 18 years of experience. He is managing the Avalon on the Square and Opus 8th & Madison mixed-use projects. Project manager Steve Nordlund brings experience working on a condo project in South Lake Union. Lindsey McBride is an interior design intern, who is working on multifamily projects, including the Broadway and Pine project on Capitol Hill.

Seattle-based Johnson Braund Design Group named James G. Turney director of hospitality. Turney has 20 years of experience designing government, defense and education projects. Johnson Braund provides architecture, landscape architecture and interior design services.

Portland architecture firm Thomas Hacker Architects added Vaughan Reynolds as project architect for a $25 million building for the University of California, Merced. Heather Flegel worked for Dull Olson Weekes Architects on K-12 educational projects, and will manage projects for the city of Sherwood. Andrew Schilling is working on an addition to the U.S. port of entry in Blaine. Patrick Thorne is an office assistant. Thomas Hacker Architects designs libraries, higher education buildings and civic buildings.

Portland's Opsis Architecture added intern architects Weston Becker, Eric Black, Joy Igo and Jennifer Schniedwind. Becker recently completed a graduate teaching fellowship at the University of Oregon. Black will work on a building expansion at Shoreline Community College. Igo was with Starck Architecture + Planning. Schniedwind was an intern at Fletcher Farr Ayotte.

Alexandra Zimmer will direct interior design. Other new interior designers are Dustin Dis and Keri Heus. Zimmer has 20 years of experience including work at Dull Olson Weeks on K-12 projects. Dis was with Karol Niemi Associates as an interior designer, and was also a production engineer at Alexander Manufacturing. Heus was a designer at Marshall Erdman & Associates in Madison, Wis. Opsis works on civic, higher education and cultural arts facilities in Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Montana.

CollinsWoerman

The architecture, planning and design firm CollinsWoerman named health care planner and designer Brian Berg a principal. Berg will help set strategic direction and lead health care initiatives. Also working to set the company's direction are Marguerite Jamieson, John Swolgaard and Joe Workman. Directors are business develoment head Elizabeth Morgan and operations director David O'Brien. Ten firm members were named associates: Tim Bissmeyer, John Espe, Grant Faust, David Holmes, Larry Lelan, Pat Logan, Bill Okazaki, Bev Tiedje, James Walker and John Whitlow.

Pierce County Arts Commission

Beth Willis, director of corporate development for The World Trade Center Tacoma, has been elected to lead the Pierce County Arts Commission. This group advises the Pierce County Arts and Cultural Services on funding and other arts-related issues. Others recently appointed to the commission are Marie Moren, a documentary film producer, and Jonathan Cunningham, a software engineer and cellist.

Architecture, design and engineering firm Otak recently added Corey Jurcak as a senior project engineer in Kirkland. In Seattle, Megan Kim was hired to work on architecture and landscape architecture. Scott Cimino is an engineering designer in Vancouver, and in Tempe, Ariz., Miguel Benitez is a technician. Paula Mason was an associate planner with the city of Bend and now works in Otak's office there. Joshua Heacock had taught at Oregon State University. In Lake Oswego, Ore., Otak added: Art Smith to work on land surveying; Marcus Jones, Christian Rees and Stuart Doyle to do architecture; Ken Norton and Julie Rentz for transportation projects; Andrew George and Andrew Stoeckinger in its public services and water resources groups; and Chad Maxwell and Leslie McClain for development.

Hopper Dennis Jellison

Vancouver-based engineering firm Hopper Dennis Jellison added staff to work with clients in Washington and Oregon. The construction services section added two senior inspectors, Paul Reed and Thomas Lyon. Reed worked at the Washington State Department of Transportation in inspection and materials testing. Lyon also worked at WSDOT, and will be chief inspector for a road reconstruction project in Kittitas County. Design engineers Christopher C. Rae and David S. Jardin will work on residential projects. Rae was an intern with the city of Phoenix. Jardin specializes in design and inspection of roads, sewer systems and storm drainage. Stacy J. Frost was recently registered as a professional engineer in Washington. Karen M. Vann joins the transportation group. She recently graduated with a bachelor's in civil engineering from Portland State University. Nicolle S. Sicilia joined the land use planning department.

Jacobs Associates

Jacobs Associates promoted Gregg W. Davidson to associate. Davidson has 20 years of experience in underground and tunnel engineering projects. He is working on the Brightwater conveyance tunnel and a sewer project in Melbourne, Australia. Jacobs Associates is a construction engineering firm specializing in underground infrastructure, with offices in Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, Portland and Seattle.

Wimberly, Alison, Tong and Goo

Architectural firm Wimberly, Alison, Tong and Goo added Aileen Vince Cruz, Susan Robkin and Ellen Tabieros. Tabieros has moved to the company's Seattle office after working in Honolulu as a project administrator. Robkin is an executive assistant. Cruz was an intern and is now a full-time interior design assistant. The company consults on design for the hospitality, leisure and entertainment industries.

Art Anderson Associates

Bremerton-based Art Anderson Associates named Gregory Jose business development associate. Jose worked with the company for four summers.
