Kirkland-based Associated Earth Sciences has opened a new Tacoma office headed by
Maire Thornton, P.E., senior engineer. Thornton has 30 years of experience in civil and geotechnical engineering, including geotechnical exploration, site evaluation, remedial design and project recommendation for both residential and commercial developments. Thornton has worked on projects for the Tacoma School District, the Puyallup School District and Northwest Landing. The firm also has an office in Everett.
Zimmer Gunsul Frasca Architects has added
Rosemary Carraher in the Seattle office as associate partner. She has 32 years of experience focused primarily on health care architecture and is working the new Acute Care Tower for Providence Everett Medical Center. Carraher worked at NBBJ in Seattle for 24 years. Her recent projects include a new South Tower for Overlake Hospital and Medical Center in Bellevue and a new Emergency Services Tower for Valley Medical Center in Renton. Carraher has worked on science and medical research facilities at the University of Washington, National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Md.; and ZymoGenetics in Seattle.
Brown and Caldwell has hired five employees in the Seattle office. Liz Korb joined the Water Resources Group and specializes in hydrology, flood frequency and flow analysis. Ian Frank is a structural engineer with construction management and design experience. Ahmed Idrees joined the firm as an engineer in the Instrumentation & Control Group. Angela Saelee joined as an office support services assistant and Kara Menicke is a project accountant.
The Vancouver office of Hopper Dennis Jellison hired Thomas E. Beggs as a project manager/engineer to support the transportation services section. Beggs has more than 27 years of experience, including working for Oregon DOT as a project manager and designer for the TripCheck.com Web site. Beggs also was the California Department of Transportation's acting deputy district director for the maintenance and operations branch. While at Caltran, he handled scheduling and monitoring of 250 earthquake retrofit projects related to the Northridge earthquake. Joseph H. Frank, has been added to Construction Services Section for the summer paving season as an inspector. He is working toward his civil engineering technology degree at Chemeketa Community College. The Pasco branch has added Kevin B. Geris as an engineering technician.
Seattle-based Johnson Braund Design Group has hired
Adina Biegleras as an intern architect in the housing studio. The Romanian-born designer formerly specialized in designing high-end homes around the Northwest.
Shockey/Brent has promoted former Senior Associate
Camie Anderson to the management team. Anderson has more than seven years of planning experience, mostly in project management, public utility districts and environmental research. Anderson will manage project land use applications.
GeoEngineers has hired
Bryan Vose as a special inspection and testing technician at the Spokane office. He previously worked in the retail industry. The company has hired anew staff 1 geologists for the Spokane office.
Nick Rohrbach was previously with Montgomery Watson Harza in Sacramento, Calif.
Ku Hyun Kwon has joined GeoEngineers' Spokane office as a Staff 1 geotechnical engineer. He recently graduated with his masters in civil engineering with a geotechnical emphasis from Brigham Young University.
