Adams
Anne Adams, Aaron Mollick and Michael Troyer have been named principals at Stuart Silk Architects. Adams joined the firm in 2001 and manages several new home and remodel projects. She previously worked in the New York office of Michael Graves. Mollick has been with the firm for more than 10 years and has supervised high-end home projects in the Pacific Northwest and Canada. Troyer has been with the firm for seven years, working on a variety of residential projects throughout the U.S.

Mithun named three new principals: Jay Janette, Antonio Parés and Tammie Schacher. All three are LEED-certified. Janette has 14 years of experience. Parés has 20 years of experience, including working as staff architect for New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson. Parés is working on the Miraval Resort and Spa in Arizona and on the San Francisco Zen Center’s Green Gulch Farm. Schacher is working on a new factory-built prototype for urban living and is executive treasurer for AIA Seattle.

Patano+Hafermann Architects hired Sarah Marsh as project manager and Meredith Kelly and Laura Duris as project architects. Marsh has six years of experience, is LEED-certified and worked as a project manager at D+A Studio and BC&J Architecture. Kelly has three years of experience in construction management and architectural lighting design and Duris has seven years of experience.

TCF Architecture of Tacoma made several hires. Joe Nanfito was hired as construction administrator and is working on the Highline School District’s Midway Elementary School Replacement. Mike Nelson is working on the Jim & Carolyn Milgard Family Hope Center in Gig Harbor. Gerry Pless was hired as a project architect with 22 years of experience in architecture. Pless is working on the Highline School District’s Marvista Elementary School replacement, Seattle Public Schools’ Ingraham High School renovation and the Life Center remodel and addition. Deneise Kopetzky was also hired as marketing coordinator. Two TCF architects recently obtained LEED accreditation: Brian Ho and Monganita “Teta” Brown. Architect and interior designer Holli Smith obtained her architectural license.

With the merger of Andersen Bjornstad Kane Jacobs and AKB under the name Andersen Bjornstad Kane Jacobs, AKB founding principal Arun Bhagat joins the new firm as a principal and Joseph Glaser joins ABKJ as a project manager. ABKJ also announced other new hires and promotions. Jason Shrope was promoted to project manager in the transportation department. Shrope has been with ABKJ for seven years and has 11 years of experience in design and construction, including roadway alignment design, site preparation, grading and paving design, and drainage. He is working on the West Thomas Street Overpass for the Seattle Department of Transportation and the Mount Si Bridge replacement for King County. Genmiao Chen joins the transportation department as a structural bridge engineer and Nduta Mbuthia joins the transportation department after nine years at the Washington State Department of Transportation. Mbuthia will be working on state Route 522 and the Orting Bridge for Kids. Recent graduates Matthew Novak and Gregory Nault also joined the transportation department, and recent graduate Mark Dachille joins the building department.

Gensler

Gensler announced several new hires, promotions and returning employees. David Ho, Stephanie Rush and Shun-Pin Tseung were hired at the Seattle office. Ho is a project manager with more than nine years of architecture and workplace project experience. He is working on the Bank of America’s local data processing center and the Century Square lobby renovation project in downtown Seattle. Rush joined Gensler as an interior designer. She is working on an Allen Edmonds project with Gensler San Francisco and Bank of America projects in Seattle and Portland. Tseung, who is LEED-accredited, joined Gensler Seattle as a project designer. He is working on projects for Smith-Barney, Edelman and the Century Square lobby and streetfront renovation in downtown Seattle. Yukako Horiuchi and Brian van Stipdonk have returned to the Gensler Seattle office. Horiuchi, an associate and a LEED-certified interior designer, has returned from Gensler’s San Ramon office. Horiuchi is working on projects that include Deloitte & Touche and Getty Images and is working on the Century Square lobby and street front renovation in downtown Seattle. Van Stipdonk, an associate, also transferred from Gensler’s San Francisco office. Van Stipdonk brings more than 15 years of experience and is working on the Century Square lobby and street front renovation in downtown Seattle. Gensler also announced the promotion of one new associate, Molly Thornton. Thornton has worked in many project roles and has experience ranging from programming to construction administration to marketing. She is working in design and technical aspects of the Safeco 1001 4th Avenue project in downtown Seattle.

Zimmer Gunsul Frasca Architects

Zimmer Gunsul Frasca Architects hired two LEED-certified experts, Gladys Ly-Au Young and Chris Flint Chatto, to work in its Seattle office. Young worked at Olson Sundberg Kundig Allen Architects in Seattle for 12 years on projects including a School of Law at Seattle University, the Frye Art Museum and the Mission Hill Family Estate Winery in British Columbia. Chatto worked at Weber + Thompson Architects where he chaired the LEED energy and mechanical team. He also worked at the Energy Studies in Buildings Laboratory at the University of Oregon and founded the Coalition for Sustainable Transportation in Santa Barbara, an organization advocating for alternative transportation.

Weinstein A|U

Weinstein A|U Architects and Urban Designers has hired architects Sandra Choy and Paul Tomita. Choy has three years of experience working on mixed-use projects in Korea, China and Singapore, and is working on the Rotary Support Center for Family Services in Seattle. Tomita has 25 years of experience, the last 10 as principal of Pentalink Architecture. He served on the Light Rail Review Panel and the Monorail Review Panel and is working on renovation of the Nakamura Federal Courthouse.
