Seattle-based architecture firm LMN promoted
Sam Miller to partner. He will also continue to lead several Seattle area projects and the firm's sustainability initiatives. Miller's work includes civic, education and community projects, including the Museum of History & Industry in South Lake Union, Seattle Preparatory School and City College of San Francisco Performing Arts Center. He joined LMN in 2000, and has served on the University of Washington department of architecture professionals advisory board and Cascadia Region GBC Seattle branch steering committee.
Rice Fergus Miller promoted
Monica Blackwood to principal,
Howard Struve to senior associate and
Shawn Dinkuhn to associate. Blackwood joined the firm in 2001 and is director of business operations and a senior professional in human resources. Struve is technical designer for fire and emergency services, and oversees quality control. Dinkuhn joined the company five years ago and coordinates community, health care, senior living and hospitality projects. Rice Fergus Miller is based in Bremerton.
Murray, Smith & Associates named
Caroline Barlow and
Gabriel Crop shareholders and associates. Barlow is experienced in hydraulic modeling, public facilities master planning, and design, permitting and construction management of water, wastewater and stormwater systems. Crop has led transportation, water and wastewater projects. He is experienced in planning, design and construction administration of public works projects, trenchless technologies and subsurface utility engineering. The firm specializes in public infrastructure engineering.
Matt Faulkner with MacKay & Sposito passed his certified federal surveyor exam, joining only 300 surveyors in the nation. CFedS provides training in federal survey processes, and surveying tribal lands. Faulkner is in the Vancouver office. He has 10 years in surveying project management. M&S offers civil engineering, land and construction surveying, land-use planning, landscape architecture and construction management services, with offices in Washington and Oregon.

Coffman Engineers promoted
Michel Sotura to principal in its Seattle office. He joined the firm in 2005, and became mechanical department manager in 2008. Sotura, who has worked as an HVAC engineer for 22 years, completed mechanical design for a 500,000-square-foot remodel for Boeing Co., including Boeing's first LEED certified building. Other projects include remodels and additions for Franciscan Health System, and a medical education building for the University of California, Irvine. Coffman also has offices in Spokane, and in California, Alaska and Hawaii.
