Structural engineering firm Cary Kopczynski & Co. hired Victor Hernandez as a marketing assistant, Ben Akada as BIM manager, Sam Adkins as IT manager and Kristina Low as a design engineer in its Bellevue headquarters. Hernandez has experience with digital marketing and branding. He will assist the senior marketing coordinator in preparing responses to complex project pursuits while managing the company's mainstream marketing initiatives. Akada has 25 years of structural drafting and BIM modeling experience and has been leading large BIM teams for the past 10 years. He is involved in 3545 Wilshire, a 30-story tower in Los Angeles; and 1900 Broadway, a 41-story residential tower in Oakland. Low has four years of experience providing design and analysis of major building structures, construction administration and project coordination. Her experience includes high-rise residential and office developments. In Seattle, she is involved in Seattle House, a twin 45-story tower development, and 1000 Virginia, a 480-foot residential tower. Adkins has 15 years of experience in information technology roles. He will manage all aspects of IT throughout the company. His responsibilities will include upgrading CKC to state-of-the-art advanced communication systems and next generation technology.


Seattle firm Lund Opsahl promoted Owen Bower to principal and Tony Mason to senior associate. Bower works on healthcare, educational, industrial, civic and commercial projects. His recent work includes Bainbridge Island Performing Arts Center, Shoreline Community College's health sciences complex, Skagit Transit Maintenance, Operations, and Administration Facility and multiple Department of Social and Health Services behavioral health facilities. Mason has a background in construction and structural engineering and experience in healthcare, civic, commercial, construction engineering, multifamily and industrial projects. His recent work includes Seattle-Tacoma International Airport's Concourse D Annex, EvergreenHealth's Critical Care Unit, 100 Multnomah Office Tower in Portland and the Washington Labor & Industries and Department of Agriculture building in Tumwater. Lund Opsahl provides structural and seismic engineering.




In Seattle, GGLO promoted Mark Rainville, Ray Sayers, Sarah Pride and SaSha Henry to associate. Rainville has 15 years of architectural experience on high-rise residential, commercial, student and multifamily housing, and city and county projects. Sayers was a summer intern at GGLO and has a master of architecture degree from the University of Washington. Pride has 10 years of multifamily and workplace design experience. Henry holds a bachelor of fine arts in interior design from the University of North Texas. GGLO is a design practice for architecture, urban design, landscapes and interiors.

Seattle-based LMN Architects added of three new partners to join the leadership of the firm: Julie Adams, Osama Quotah, and Pamela Trevithick. LMN said this expansion of the partnership enhances the firm's capacity to undertake complex planning and design assignments in public and private market sectors — ranging from small-scale projects to major institutional facilities and urban districts. Adams has been a leader in the performing arts and education markets, directing some of the firm's most prominent projects, locally and nationally. Quotah leads with a passion for the firm's work and he has demonstrated a deep engagement in the local community and advocacy for design as a force for positive change. He has been instrumental in the success of important cultural and civic projects in the Pacific Northwest. Trevithick has demonstrated a commitment to nurturing professional relationships essential to the ongoing success of her projects, clients and peers. She has led teams across an array of project typologies. Her leadership has been instrumental in broadening the impact and strengthening the resiliency of the firm. As partners, they will work to strengthen cross-generational collaboration and mentoring to improve growth opportunities of the practice. They will continue their daily leadership of existing projects and reinforce LMN's capacity to engage new opportunities.




Architecture firm SRG Partnership promoted Todd Andrews, Cassandra El-Soudani, Whitney Ranson and Kirill Ryadchenko to associate. Andrews, the IT director, manages the IT infrastructure for the Portland and Seattle locations. He has nearly 30 years of experience and is responsible for SRG's technology infrastructure, including support for the firm's network, design practice tools and business systems. In 2020, he helped the firm transition to an all-virtual technology platform so everyone on staff could work remotely during the pandemic. El-Soudani joined SRG's Seattle studio in 2016 as office manager and in 2018 was promoted to studio communications manager because of her strong writing and communications skills. She is on the firm's marketing team and supports project teams. Ranson has served in a critical role in designing Portland's new office space and most recently on the newly imagined Hayward Field at the University of Oregon. Ryadchenko is BIM manager and has an innovative approach to new technologies and tools that support SRG's design process. He has six years of industry experience. Andrews, Ranson and Ryadchenko are in the Portland office. El-Soudani is in the Seattle office.
