Seattle law firm Betts, Patterson & Mines hired Candace M. Minerich as an associate in the Complex Litigation Practice Group. Minerich will concentrate on construction defects and insurance defense.

Extraordinary Dining Society

Jake Kosseff will launch the Extraordinary Dining Society with its first event on Nov. 29. The society will offer a series of dinners featuring rare vintage wines and cuisine from local chefs that take place at different restaurants. The first event will be at The Herbfarm and will be a nine-course meal that costs $1,500 per person. Cost of other meals will vary based on food and wine served. Seattle-based Wilson Public Relations announced promotions. Heather Jensvold and Lisa Nourse are now senior account executives and Lauren Fior is an account executive. Wilson Public Relations specializes in hospitality and luxury lifestyle brands.

0/8 Seafood Grill and Twisted Cork Wine Bar, located in the Bellevue Hyatt Regency, hired Michael Anderson as beverage director. He will be responsible for all drinks, from water to cocktails. Anderson spent the past 18 years working in wholesale wine, both selling and managing.

WSU Center to Bridge the Digital Divide

Bill Gillis, director of Washington State University's Center to Bridge the Digital Divide, will step down as center director to focus on rural economic development. Vickie Parker-Clark, district director for WSU Extension's Northeast District and an extension professor with 25 years experience, will serve as interim director. The center empowers people to apply technology to build community and create opportunity.

Wild Ginger

Developer Schnitzer West said Wild Ginger will open a restaurant in The Bravern in downtown Bellevue in September of 2009. The 14,000-square-feet space will be on two floors. Rick and Ann Yoder operate Wild Ginger. The Bravern will be at the corner of Northeast Eighth Street and 112th Avenue Northeast, with retail, housing and two office towers leased by Microsoft.

NanoString Technologies

Seattle-based NanoString Technologies hired Alan Dance as chief commercial officer. Dance has 24 years of experience in corporate development, sales and marketing. He worked at Affymetrix.

Washington State Main Street Program

The Department of Community, Trade and Economic Development chose eight people to serve on the Washington State Main Street Program. They are Terry Galvin of the city of Blaine, Paul Whelan of the Historic Downtown Coupeville Association, Timothy Bishop of Ellensburg Downtown Association, Deb Heintz of Historic Downtown Prosser Association, John Trueman of Tacoma's Old Town Neighborhood Business District, Jon Campbell of the Downtown Walla Walla Foundation, Allison Williams of the city of Wenatchee and Jennifer Meisner of the Washington Trust for Historic Preservation. The committee helps communities strengthen the economy, appearance and image of their downtowns or neighborhood business districts.
