The Resort at The Mountain, an all-season resort near Mt. Hood, Ore., hired Brad Boler as sales manager and Job York as catering sales manager. Boler has worked for Victory Gear Athletics and Adidas Europe. York was director of catering at The Inn at Otter Crest.
Seattle-based Washington Mutual hired Michael S. Solender as executive vice president and chief legal officer. He will be responsible for overseeing legal, compliance and government relations functions. Solender will also be a member of the Executive Committee. He succeeds Stewart M. Landefeld, interim chief legal officer, who is returning to private practice at Perkins Coie, Seattle. Solender worked at The Bear Stearns Companies as general counsel.
Seattle Repertory Theatre hired Katie Jackman as director of marketing and communications. Jackman has 10 years experience marketing nonprofit and commercial theater for organizations based in the Twin Cities.
Bellevue-based PivotLink, a provider of on-demand business intelligence solutions, hired Nan Froisland as director of product strategy. Froisland has 15 years of software product management experience and last worked with JDA Software.

The Westin Seattle hired Irene Lin as director of sales and marketing. Lin recently held the same position at The Westin Resort and Spa, Whistler, B.C.
Carney Badley Spellman hired Elizabeth K. Maurer as of counsel. She focuses on employment law matters for private and public sector employers and was a corporate attorney at Microsoft.
Ray's Boathouse, Café & Catering on Shilshole Bay in Seattle, hired Seth Prigg as sous chef and Scott Redington as dining room manager of for its fine-dining Boathouse restaurant. Prigg was the sous chef for the Union Square Grill. Redington has 10 years of experience in the hospitality industry and has managed restaurants in Portland, California and Honolulu.
Stephen P. Smith is the new vice president for human resources and legal affairs at Shoreline Community College. Smith was human resources liability prevention/dispute resolution manager for the state Department of Labor and Industries. He succeeds Jim Tuttle, who had served as interim special assistant to the president for human resources.
