Pacific Fishermen Shipyard and Electric hired longtime employee Jeremy McWirter as electrical division manager. Following Pacific Fishermen's purchase of Lunde Electric Co. in 2004, McWirter has served as UL certified panel shop manager at the Pacific Fishermen Shipyard.
Local coffee company Fonte Coffee Roaster will open a cafe and wine bar this summer at the Four Seasons Hotel Seattle. Fonte is owned by Paul Odom. Tysan Dutta, previously sommelier and a manager for the Herb Farm, will work there. Fonte also hired Dismas Smith as a barista.
The Just the Beginning Foundation, a multi-racial nonprofit dedicated to nurturing interest in the law among young people from underrepresented groups, will hold the fourth of five summer legal institutes from July 27-31. Thirty diverse high school students will attend the event at the University of Washington School of Law. The five-day program features classroom lectures, logic and critical-thinking exercises.
Northwest Hospital & Medical Center hired Teresa Wagner as a board certified specialist in pulmonary and critical care medicine. She is joining Northwest Respiratory Associates in North Seattle. Wagner will also be working in the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital.

Sound Community Bank, a subsidiary of Sound Financial, is acquiring the Tacoma office of 1st Security Bank of Washington. Sound Community Bank will purchase deposits, deposit-related loans and assume the lease for the branch at 2941 S. 38th St., subject to regulatory approval. The acquisition is expected to close in the third quarter. Sound Community Bank plans to move its Lakewood Towne Center branch during the fourth quarter.
Seattle-based All Star Directories, an Internet-based publisher of online and career school directories, promoted Peggy Ball from human resources manager to director of human resources. Ball has worked for the company since 2007.
The Washington Restaurant Association hired Bob Decker as director of membership. Decker was formerly with Sysco Spokane, a company that marketed and distributed food products.
Johnny Spuds and Sahara Pizza in Mountlake Terrace is open. The restaurants are owned by John Hertrich and are located at 5803 244th St. S.W.
