Alaska Power & Telephone Co. said Michael Garrett will replace the company's long-time president and CEO, Robert Grimm, when Grimm retires at the end of the year. Garrett is AP&T's COO and executive vice president, and is president of Alaska Exchange Carriers Association. The company provides energy and communication services to 40 communities, from the Arctic Circle to the southernmost tip of Southeast Alaska.
Nancy B. Greer is the new president and CEO of the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle. She has been with the federation for nearly seven years, most recently as executive vice president and chief operating officer.

Washington Poison Center has a new medical director: Dr. Erica Liebelt, who will also serve as a clinical professor of pediatrics at the University of Washington School of Medicine. She will provide medical oversight for poison information specialists at WAPC, and support education and outreach. She was a professor of pediatrics and emergency medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine and co-medical director of the Regional Poison Control Center/Birmingham. Dr. Betty Chen and Dr. Matthew Valento have been serving as co-interim medical directors.

NW Natural named Alan Garcia director of customer acquisition to oversee marketing and major account services. Garcia was with Interject Data Systems as director of marketing and also worked at Simple Finance, The Standard, Banfield Pet Hospital and Hewlett-Packard. Portland-based NW Natural provides natural gas service to 718,000 customers in Oregon and Southwest Washington.

After serving as general counsel of Colliers International Group, Alex Baehr has joined Summit Law Group. His practice will focus on complex disputes, including commercial real estate, corporate, employment, insurance and intellectual property, as well as internal investigations and risk management. Summit was formed in 1997. The firm said it allows customers to adjust the fees they pay to reflect the value of services received.

Seattle Southside has named Lisa Schwartz business development manager for the regional tourism authority. Schwartz has been involved in Washington state tourism promotion and served as a global marketing executive and account manager.
Women Business Owners will give the Nellie Cashman Award to one of five finalists on Thursday, Oct. 6, at an awards banquet in the Four Seasons Hotel in Seattle. October is Women's Small Business Month. Nellie Cashman, who died in 1925, operated a variety of businesses from British Columbia to Arizona that made her financially independent. Here are this year's finalists: Sari Davidson, BooginHead; Andrea Duffield, Mosaic Rehabilitation; Terry L. Jacobson, MD, RPh, FACP; Alissa Leinonen, Gourmondo Co.; and Nancy Lee Smith, Washington Liftruck.

Jeffrey M. Odom has rejoined Lane Powell as a shareholder in the Seattle office, and a member of the Litigation Practice Group. Odom has experience in complex litigation with an emphasis on commercial disputes, construction, toxic torts and product liability. He served as a judicial extern for Justice Robert Benham of the Supreme Court of Georgia and won the 2001 National Trial Advocacy Competition.
JND Legal Administration, a management and administration company focused on class action, mass tort, corporate restructuring, government services and eDiscovery, has added Michael J. Hill to JND Corporate Restructuring as vice president. Hill was with Kurtzman Carson Consultants and was operations manager for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in the Central District of California.
