Lisa Kalscheur is the new chief marketing officer at Monetate in Seattle. Kalscheur has led marketing at several high-growth technology companies, including NewsCred and AppNexus. Monetate develops e-commerce personalization software for retailers such as QVC, Newegg, Timberland and The North Face. Monetate is based in Pennsylvania.

Know Labs

Larry K. Ellingson joined Seattle-based Know Labs' medical, scientific and regulatory advisory board. Ellingson has over four decades of experience in the pharmaceutical and medical device markets, and is principal of Global Diabetes Consulting. He was an executive for 30 years at Eli Lilly and Co. Know Labs directs structured light or radio waves through substances to capture molecular signatures used for identification, authentication and diagnosis.

Leafly

Leafly, a Seattle-based cannabis technology company, hired Yoko Miyashita as general counsel, Tracie Wurlitzer as vice president of human resources and Laura Morarity as vice president of corporate affairs. Miyashita was senior vice president and general counsel for nearly 14 years at Getty Images. Wurlitzer has over 25 years of HR experience at companies such as LivePerson, Amazon, BP, Hewlett-Packard and Red Digital Cinema. Morarity was a communications lead at Sonos and Avvo.

Anthony Ambrose, president and CEO of Redmond-based Data I/O, was appointed as an independent director of Cipherloc, a data security solutions company in Texas.

Seattle Metro Chamber

Here are the winners of the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce's Women in Business and Leadership Initiative Awards: Davis Wright Tremaine, Business of the Year; Graciela Gomez Cowger, CEO of Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt, Female Leader of the Year; and Madeleine Winslow, diversity and inclusion consultant with Mercer, Rising Star. Finalists for Business of the Year were Cortona Cafe and Perkins Coie. Finalists for Female Leader of the Year were Sue Anderson of CenturyLink and Janis Avery of Treehouse. Finalists for Rising Star were Alison Driver of The Trust for Public Land and Sage Ke'alohilani Quiamno of Future for Us.

Port of Astoria

The Port of Astoria's executive director Jim Knight has resigned. Knight came to the Port in 2014 from the Port of Olympia, where he was director of the marine terminal. He was the Port of Astoria's fifth director since 2012. Commissioners have installed Port finance director Will Isom as interim executive director. The commission will discuss the search for a new executive director in July.

Corey Margolis of Spectra Venue Management received a 2019 Generation Next award from the publication VenuesNow. Margolis is general manager of Angel of the Winds Arena in Everett. The award is for up-and-coming leaders in the venue industry who are 35 years old or younger.

Maven

Seattle-based Maven is acquiring TheStreet in a $16.5 million cash deal. TheStreet is a 20-year-old financial news and information provider to investors and institutions. Maven is an expert-driven group media network platform. The deal is expected to close in the third quarter.
