McDonogh

BitTitan appointed Craig McDonogh as vice president of marketing. McDonogh's appointment follows BitTitan's acquisition of Perspectium in June. With more than 30 years of experience in technology marketing and service management, McDonogh will lead all product, brand and channel marketing initiatives for BitTitan and will be based in the company's San Diego office. Before joining Perspectium in 2017 as its vice president of marketing, McDonogh was one of the early employees at ServiceNow, where he shaped product and corporate messaging. Prior to ServiceNow, McDonogh spent 12 years with Remedy and BMC Software. McDonogh has also worked extensively in the enterprise, IT, cloud and SaaS industries, and has presented at various events around the world. BitTitan enables IT service professionals to deploy and manage cloud technologies through its family of software solutions: MigrationWiz, Voleer and Perspectium. The global company has offices in Seattle, San Diego and Singapore.

Panopto

Wyatt

Panopto announced that Will Wyatt is joining the company as its new chief sales officer. Before joining Panopto, Wyatt ran the sales and partnership organization at Ekata, formerly Whitepages Pro, for nearly seven years. Prior to his role with Ekata, Wyatt founded a digital marketing business and held several sales leadership positions at Seattle technology startups. Panopto helps businesses and universities create secure, searchable video libraries of their institutional knowledge. Panopto is headquartered in Seattle, with offices in Pittsburgh, London, Hong Kong, Singapore and Sydney.

Maryhill Museum of Art

The four-day Plein Air Paint Out will take place July 26–29, with artists fanning out to paint the scenic beauty of the Columbia River Gorge. Close to 40 artists are expected to attend this annual event hosted by Maryhill Museum of Art since 2016 and founded 17 years ago by Hood River artist Cathleen Rehfeld Meyers. Finished artworks will be on view and available for purchase Aug. 1–28 in the museum's M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust Education Center. Artists are anticipated to create over 200 pieces during the paint out. As work is sold and removed, other work created during the paint out will replace it. Proceeds support Maryhill Museum of Art. The event is sponsored by Byron and Sue Henry, Laura and Steve Muehleck, Friends of the Columbia Gorge, and Scottsdale Artists' School. Housed in a Beaux Arts mansion on 5,300 acres high above the Columbia River, Maryhill Museum of Art opened to the public in 1940. The museum, 12 miles south of Goldendale, was founded by Northwest entrepreneur Sam Hill.

Columbia Distributing

Columbia Distributing announced a five-year collective bargaining agreement with workers represented by Teamsters Local Union No. 174. The agreement delivers competitive wages and benefits to approximately 310 warehouse and delivery employees. The new contract will extend through February 28, 2026. Columbia Distributing was founded in 1935, and today its 3,000+ employees service over 22,000 retail customers in Washington, Oregon and California.

PEMCO School Supply Drive

PEMCO Mutual Insurance is hosting its annual “Supply Surge” school supply drive, from now to August 6, to support homeless and underserved students in the Pacific Northwest. The goal of the drive is to help close the opportunity gap for these students by making sure they start the school year with the necessary supplies. Since 2018, Supply Surge has rallied donors and organizations to collect more than 455,000 individual classroom supplies for students. The Supply Surge team currently includes 37 community-focused organizations such as Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, Vulcan, Seattle Children's Research Institute, Sellen Construction, MoPOP, Pacific Science Center, Bristol Myers Squibb and Starbucks, as well as many other South Lake Union businesses.

As part of PEMCO's Mutual Good program, the PEMCO Foundation will match donations dollar-for-dollar for every donation made between August 4 and August 6, up to $5,000 in total. Donations from the Supply Surge will benefit 13 middle and high schools in Seattle, Lynnwood, Spokane and Portland that have high homeless student populations. DreamBox Learning

Education technology provider DreamBox Learning has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Reading Plus, an evidence-based online reading program for grades 3-12 designed to help students boost their literacy skills and reading confidence. This move complements DreamBox's recent acquisition of Squiggle Park, a K-2 reading solution designed to help students gain proficiency in early literacy. Currently, DreamBox supports over 5 million students and over 200,000 educators in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Canada, and Mexico. The COVID-19 pandemic accelerated DreamBox's growth as most district administrators rapidly adopted and scaled blended learning solutions to support remote learning. DreamBox Learning, founded in 2006 in Bellevue, has won more than 40 top education and technology industry awards.

The Korean Women's Association (KWA) announced the opportunity for students to apply for a scholarship to support achievement of their post-secondary educational goals. To qualify for a KWA scholarship, you must be a resident of Washington state as a citizen or a permanent legal resident; be accepted for college or trade school; meet student status requirements for specific awards: enrolled as a full-time, undergraduate student in a degree-granting or trade school program or expecting to graduate this year from high school and enroll in a full-time undergraduate degree-granting or trade school program or completing a two-year college or trade program and; demonstrate financial need. Tanium

Kirkland-based Tanium, a provider of endpoint management and security for IT environments, has been named to FORTUNE Magazine's 2021 list of Best Large Workplaces for Millennials. This marks Tanium's second consecutive appearance overall, and first in the large company category. The Best Workplaces for Millennials award is based on analysis of survey responses from more than 5.3 million current employees. Using analytics and confidential employee feedback, Great Place to Work selects winners based on how fairly employees are treated. Companies are assessed on how well they are creating a great employee experience that cuts across race, gender, age and disability status. Since March 2020, Tanium has added nearly 1000 employees, bringing its global headcount to 2,000 employees. The company decentralized its operations, with full-time employees now working in 48 of the 50 US states.
