Roderick C. Bond joined the firm of Peterson Russell Kelly as an associate. Bond has 15 years of entrepreneurial and financial markets experience. He received his JD from the University of Washington this year. Bond's appointment raises the Bellevue-based firm to 12 lawyers.
Bettye Ann Hill was honored recently at the Mayflower Hotel upon her retirement after 35 yeas of service to the Seattle hotel. Hill joined the Mayflower in 1967 and was most recently its executive housekeeper. The Mayflower, built in 1927, is owned by Birney and Marie Dempcy.
McClenahan Bruer Communications of Portland has opened its first branch office in San Francisco. Jennifer Bader was named general manager for the new office. Bader has been a senior communications counsel for McClenahan since 1999. McClenahan Bruer Communications was founded in 1993 and provides advertising and public relations services.
The Junior League of Tacoma elected 10 new members to its board of directors for 2002-2003. Joan Johnson is the new president and Wendy Dent is the new president-elect. Also elected were: Tina Burton, Tanya Hammer, Sarah Bussell, Jane Williams, Terrilyn Burke, Susan Rowe, Cindy Darland and Jayme Kaniss. The Junior League of Tacoma is an organization of women in support of voluntarism and developing the potential of women in the community

The Northwest Entrepreneur Network named Connie Bourassa-Shaw executive director. Bourassa-Shaw was previously with the University of Washington's Center for Technology Entrepreneurship where she was managing director since 1997. The Northwest Entrepreneur Network is based in Kirkland.
Pam Stocks has joined the ColorGraphics sales force. Stocks spent the last two years traveling and prior to that held sales positions at GAC Allied Printers, Associated Graphics and Martin Lithographics. ColorGraphics is a family of commercial web and sheet-fed printing facilities located in Seattle, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Orange County, Calif.
Seattle Goodwill named Scott F. Wilson to its board of directors. Wilson is a managing partner at Venture Management Associates in Seattle. Seattle Goodwill has been serving the central and northern Puget Sound for 79 years.
Functional Fuel is scheduled to open its doors on June 21 as a new restaurant at the Harbor Steps in downtown Seattle. Hossein Faramarzi is the restaurant's founder and president, Walter Bronowitz is the head chef and Kathleen Putnam will be an advisor on nutrition. The restaurant will offer healthy choices from three menu categories: fuel for sport, fuel for work and fuel for play.
David W. Meyer has joined the Vancouver office of Bullivant Houser Bailey PC. Meyer's experience spans 17 years of real estate, business formation, and business and probate litigation in Southwest Washington. He is also vice president and a member of the board of directors for the Parks and Recreation Foundation of Vancouver and Clark County. Bullivant will move its Vancouver office to a 7,500-square-foot space in Vancouver's Bank of America Financial Center in August.
National Sign has acquired S&S Sign Co. S&S has operated in Seattle since 1973 and will be run as a separate division of National Sign. S&S is credited with the design of several landmark signs including the Seattle Public Market, Five Spot Diner, Showbox and Pagliacci Pizza. National Sign was founded in Seattle in 1915.
