EvergreenBancorp has appointed Russel E. Olson to its board of directors. Prior to retirement, Olson was vice president of finance and treasurer of Puget Sound Power and Light Company and is a former board member of Pacific Northwest Bank and its predecessor, Interwest Bank. EvergreenBank is locally-owned with three offices in Seattle, Lynnwood and Bellevue. The bank will open a fourth branch in Federal Way at 1300 South 320th St. in September.
Polly Peterson has joined the Pet's Choice Animal Emergency and Referral Center in Lynnwood to serve as a veterinary specialist intern. Peterson recently completed a three-year residency at the Small Animal Clinic at Texas A&M. Her practice is centered on endocrinology, gastroenterology, hematology, immunology, infectious diseases, nephrology/urology and respiratory disease. Peterson will give care based on referrals from general practice veterinarians.
Robert C. Kuehn has been named chief investment officer of EverTrust Asset Management in Seattle. Kuehn is a CFA and a member of the Association for Investment management and Resource and the Seattle Society of Security Analysts. He will oversee investment direction and manage client's portfolios as a relationship manager.
The Hotel Group has purchased the 224-room San Antonio Doubletree Club in San Antonio, Texas. A $3.2 million renovation is planned for the property. Judy Hatch, previously with Starwood, has been named general manager. The Hotel Group is an Edmond-based company specializing in investment, ownership and management of hotels with offices in Spokane, Scottsdale, Ariz. and Nashville. The company currently owns and manages 27 properties in 10 states including Idaho, Oregon, Alaska, and Washington.
The Seattle office of the Department of Revenue will hold a free workshop for new business outreach on Sept. 4 at the U.S. Small Business Administration Enterprise Center at 2100 6th Ave. in Seattle. The Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish counties announced the dates of its ninth annual Remodeled Homes Tour for Oct. 18-19. Tickets are available at Dunn Lumber, Valley Supply and at the MBA office at 335 116th Ave S.E. in Bellevue. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Seattle AIDS support Group. The Portland District, Army Corps of Engineers has leased Crow Butte Park on the Columbia River, 13 miles west of Paterson, Wash., to the Crow Butte Park Assoc. The association was formed as a nonprofit to re-open and maintain the park through employees and volunteers. The park was closed as budget cutting measure in 2002 by the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission. The state terminated its lease in April. Crow Butte Park is located along the Lewis and Clark Trail.
Several community organizations, churches and individuals have teamed with Westfield Shoppingtown in Olympia to collect school supplies, clothing, shoes, underwear and socks for Thurston County children from low-income families. Donations can be made at the red schoolhouse in Westfield Shoppingtown through Aug. 18. Heritage Bank is also collecting donations of clothing and school supplies and cash at their six Olympia-area locations. The collected items will be distributed Thursday., Aug. 21 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Jefferson Middle School in Olympia.
