Speakeasy named Bruce Chatterley as president and CEO. Chatterley was most recently CEO of ViAir, a Seattle developer of carrier-based mobile messaging software and has held positions at Concur Technologies, Ameritech, US West, General Electric and IBM. Company founder Mike Apgar will continue as the company’s lead strategist and remain chairman of the board. Speakeasy is a Seattle-based independent broadband service provider serving the 48 contiguous states.
Dick Friel has been promoted to senior vice president of sales and marketing at Aviation Partners. Friel has been a member of the company's management team since its inception in 1992. Aviation Partners, headquartered in Seattle, is a privately held company currently partnered with Boeing to outfit Boeing aircraft with its blended winglet technology.
Patty Guglielmino has been named executive director of sales and catering at Blaine's Semiahmoo Resort. Guglielmino will continue to oversee sales efforts at The Skagit Valley Casino Resort, which is the managing partner of Semiahmoo Resort. She has held previous positions with Bensussen Deutsch & Associates, Caesars Palace, and The Rio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
The Foundation For the Future, based in Bellevue, has selected Dr. Arthur R. Jensen as recipient of its $100,000 Kistler Prize. The prize is awarded annually for original work that increases knowledge and understanding of the relationship between the human genome and society. Jensen is the author of seven books and 400 articles on human intelligence.
Suzanne Cook Olson has joined the Pet's Choice Animal Hospice of Central Kitsap in Poulsbo as a veterinary specialist in oncology and endoscopy. She was previously with the Animal Emergency and Critical Care Center in Chicago. Olson will also be a member of the Pet's Choice specialist team at the Animal Emergency and Referral Center in Lynnwood.

Puget Sound Energy named Phil Bussey vice president of regional and public affairs. Bussey will join the company in September. He has led the Seattle-based public-policy business organization Washington Roundtable since 1996. Prior to that he served as public affairs manager for Westinghouse Hanford Co. and public relations manager with Alcoa.
Jeff Clarke has joined Northwest Business Bank as a relationship officer. Clarke was previously with Columbia Bank, where he served as a commercial loan support officer.
WestCoast Hospitality named John Taffin executive vice president of hotel operations. Taffin replaces Sharon Sanchez, who is leaving the company to explore other interests. Taffin will be responsible for all owned, managed and franchised hotel operations for WestCoast. He has 21 years of hospitality industry experience, including management of hotels in California, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington. He held positions at WestCoast from 1995 to 2002, most recently as senior vice president of hotel operations. In the past year, he was managing partner of a hotel company in Montana.
J. Todd Tracey has been appointed co-chairperson of the Bankruptcy Section of the Federal Bar Association for the Western District of Washington. He was also appointed to the nominating committee for the association. Tracy is a member of the Seattle office of Ogden Murphy Wallace.
Northwest Hospital & Medical Center named Regina K. LaGalbo to its staff as an ob/gyn. Her practice will be located at Salish Women's Health on the hospital's North Seattle campus.
