John A. Hoglund has joined the law firm of Graham Lundberg & Peschel. Hoglund will be of counsel for the firm and work with the firm's managing partner, Kenneth Golden, in the Tacoma and Olympia offices. Hoglund has been a trial attorney for over 30 years. Graham Lundberg & Peschel has offices in Seattle, Tacoma, Port Orchard, Gig Harbor, Lakewood, Olympia and Puyallup.
Mary Stien and Dave Nichols are new shareholders at Parker, Smith & Feek. Stien heads the firm's personal insurance lines department. Nichols provides risk management consulting and strategy. Parker, Smith & Feek is a full-service insurance brokerage firm with offices in Bellevue, Portland and Anchorage.
The King County Council has completed staffing the Citizen's Election Oversight Committee. Jim Morgan was named to fill the last seat for a citizen representative on the 13-member committee. Morgan is a former journalist and current business consultant. The committee monitors management and operation of the county's Records, Elections and Licensing Services Division.
Anthony’s Restaurants and Mama Stortini’s won Restaurant Neighbor Awards from the Washington Restaurant Association. The awards honor restaurant operators who support their communities. Both restaurants will compete as regional winners for the National Restaurant Association's Cornerstone Humanitarian of the Year Award. The Washington Restaurant Association is a business association for the state's restaurant industry.
Seattle's Radical Software opened an office in San Diego. The company provides software engineering services for custom application. Teri Radichel is the founder and CEO. The firms clients include DevSelect, F5Networks, MyGatsby.com, Silicon Valley Bank and Staenberg Venture Partners.

Morris Beton has been appointed chief executive officer at Noetix Corp. Beton was previously senior vice president of business development at BEA Systems and held positions with IBM, Attachmate and Microsoft. Former CEO Paul Song will remain chairman of the board of directors, focusing on corporate strategy, product direction and partner relations. Bellevue-based Noetix provides global infrastructure software enabling companies to manage secure distribution of business data across the wired and wireless Internet.
WestCoast Hospitality appointed Jon Eliassen to the board of directors. Eliassen recently retired from his position as senior vice president and chief financial officer of Avista Corp. Eliassen spent 33 years at Avista. Spokane-based WestCoast Hospitality owns, manages, franchises and develops hotels.
Nurse, homeless advocate and painter Mary Larson will unveil nine new paintings at the Broadway Grill in October. Larson is a nurse at the Pioneer Square Clinic at Harborview Hospital. She sells and trades portraits of her homeless patients using the proceeds to buy supplies needed by clinic patients. The Broadway Grill will host a reception from 6 to 8 pm Oct. 1.
The Seattle chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators named Kathy Sharp, of Sharp Consulting, president; Nancy Karabatsos, of Washington Mutual, co-vice-president for professional development; Jacqueline LeFort of cr8ive4u, Inc., as vice-president of employment services; and Marilyn Corets, of Corets Communications, vice-president in charge of volunteers for the chapter. Newly elected members include Suzanne Hartman, of Rockey Hill & Knowlton; Barbara Ramey, of the city of Bellevue Transportation Dept.; Tom Lincoln; and Steven Butler, of StreetConnect.
