Casey Brookbush joined Seattle-based DPA Signs as an operations manager. DPA makes architectural and real estate signs. Brookbush has 20 years' experience in architectural sign graphics and project management. Teresa Bower will manage public works projects.
Bothell-based Neah Power Systems, a micro fuel cell technology company, said the non-profit private investor group Alliance of Angels named it Start Up Company of the Year. Alliance has invested more than $600,000 in Neah Power Systems, whose fuel cell could extend mobile device runtimes. Seed capital from Alliance enabled Neah Power founder Leroy Ohlsen to demonstrate key technical concepts, which the company says led to its first patent, issued last year.
Kennewick-based Manakoa Services appointed Dr. Robert Williams chief executive officer. James C. Katzaroff is president and interim chief financial officer. Both were also appointed to the company's board of directors. Williams was CEO of Secure Logistix, which Manakoa purchased earlier this year. Katzaroff was Manakoa's executive vice president. Manakoa is a software vendor and consulting company for information technology security and compliance.
Laird Norton Wealth Management has brought together Tyee Asset Strategies and Laird Norton Trust Co. under one brand, Laird Norton Tyee. The Seattle-based independent wealth management and trust services group will work on financial planning, asset management, estate planning and wealth preservation.
The Cambodian Cultural Museum and Killing Fields Memorial opened at 9809 16th Ave. S.W., off Delridge Way in White Center. Steelscape Inc. named Miguel Alvarez president. Steelscape makes metallic coated and painted steel sheet in Kalama as well as in the California cities of Rancho Cucamonga and Richmond. Alvarez, who was vice president of finance and worked on business strategies, succeeds Patrick Finan.
Robert Rudy Rudolph was named Olympia Regional Airport director at the Port of Olympia. Rudolph worked with the Ohio Department of Transportation and the Baltimore/Washington International Airport. In Olympia he will oversee airport operations, security and maintenance, and coordinate with government agencies.
Seattle-based Pagliacci Pizza promoted general managers Beverly Nash and Jeff Woodruff to district managers. Pagliacci has 18 locations, including 12 delivery kitchens, throughout Seattle, Bellevue and Kirkland.
