Seattle law firm Preston Gates & Ellis named Margo Easton Bennett partner. Bennett will focus on government contracts, construction and procurement policy. She was vice president of corporate development and general counsel for Seattle's Ferguson Construction and deputy general counsel for the Seattle Monorail Project. She has also worked with other Seattle law firms including Groff & Murphy, Stoel Rives, and Short Cressman & Burgess.
Seattle certified public accounting firm Moss Adams added Daniel C. Inveen to consult on securities and insurance. Inveen directed marketing research for Russell Investment Group in Tacoma and was also an economist with the Washington State Department of Trade & Economic Development.
Melanie Apostol joined Seattle University as its media relations manager. She has more than 10 years of media experience including work as an assistant editor for Time magazine and as a media relations manager for Business Wire and Oasis Productions.

Waco, Texas-based fitness center franchise Curves International recently announced the sale of its University Village area store to mother-daughter team Karen and Kate Ablott. There will be an open house on July 13 at the center.
Fashion retailer Express plans to open a store on the second level of Pacific Place in November. Construction is set to start this week. This will be the third location Express store for men and women in the Puget Sound area.
Tacoma-based Russell Investment Group appointed Jay Slusher to its U.S. Distribution retirement services group. He will be regional sales director for the 12-state central region.
