Starting early can reduce project costs

    Properly executed, major construction projects such as the U.S. Courthouse in Seattle can avoid the inherent pitfalls of those types of jobs -- cost overruns, missed deadlines and miscommunication. Speakers at a recent NWCCC workshop suggested ways to improve management of complex projects.

    Construction project managers, always looking for better ways to manage construction issues, found a smorgasbord of ideas recently in Bellingham as more than 75 of them attended a half-day workshop provided by the Northwest Construction Consumer Council.
