CONTRACTORS REMAIN CAUTIOUS about using the Internet for bidding, procurement and negotiating, but the Web continues to make inroads because the rate of cost savings is improving, experts recently told members of the Northwest Construction Consumer Council in Seattle.

A roster of Boeing, Intel and Associated General Contractors representatives offered detailed studies and experiences about using the Internet for a variety of project elements, but voiced a common warning that "if you do it right everyone benefits, if you do it wrong there can be a lot of problems."
