RCI

Sumner-based RCI has hired recent University of Washington graduates Shane Webley and Cameron Bell as project engineers. The pair were members of the UW Construction Management Department's 2004 Heavy Civil Team that placed third at the annual Associated Schools of Construction Regional Competition in Reno. Bell had the highest GPA among his fellow students each year he was in the program. He worked as a project engineer for a light-commercial contractor before attending the CM department. Webley was the 2003-2004 President of the Associated Students in Construction and spoke at the College of Architecture & Urban Planning commencement ceremonies.

Demolition contractor Trepus Corp. has moved to Bellevue. The company's new address is: 1813 130th, Suite 216, Bellevue, WA 98005. The telephone number is the same, but the fax number has been changed to (425) 558-1174.

University Mechanical Contractors

University Mechanical Contractors has added brothers Max and Michael Harshman plus Danny Blain to its Engineering Group. Max Harshman is lead mechanical engineer, Michael is senior design engineer and Blain is plumbing design engineer. The Harshman brothers both hold bachelor's degrees in mechanical engineering from Kansas University and are licensed engineers in Washington.

Fastenal Co.

Fastenal Co., a distributor of industrial and construction supplies, has opened a retail store in Burien in the Wesco Auto Body building. The store manager is Rory Dufault and assistant manager is Brian Velategui. Dufault comes from the firm's Tacoma store. The Burien store will be open 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m. weekdays. Fastenal operates 1,441 stores served by 12 distribution centers. It has opened 127 new stories this year.

Factory-built housing veteran Al Preusch has formed FoundationWorks with the purchase of Magnum Foundation Systems, which does business as Advanced Foundation Systems. The company will make and distribute two proprietary, low-cost foundation systems for factory-built homes. Its sales and marketing will be from its corporate offices in Portland, and its manufacturing operations will be in Cottage Grove, Ore. Preusch was a partner with Deloitte & Touche and CEO/chairman of Guerdon Homes. He will act as chairman and interim CEO while a management team for FoundationWorks is assembled.
