The new First & Republican Building, at 424 First Ave. W. on lower Queen Anne, provides 45 apartments and ground floor commercial space in an area where demand for housing is high.
The $4.8 million project is the first development project for the owners, First & Republican Associates, who plan to hold onto the property as a long-term investment.

The 1,500-square-foot, top-floor penthouses have views of the city and Puget Sound. Studios are about 500 square feet.
Weber + Thompson Architects handled the architecture and interior design. W.G. Clark was the general contractor and the structural engineer was Michael Nouwens. Civil engineer was CT Engineering.
