Design Perspectives: Lessons for Seattle from New York's Bryant Park

People just can't stay away from Bryant Park.

On a near-freezing day in Midtown Manhattan last week, New Yorkers and visitors of every description were there, among lingering drifts of snow. They found places to perch at the well-distributed tables and chairs, or on the benches and low walls. Some waited their turn at the open-air ice-skating rink.
