Engineers work to keep a floating bridge floating

    ENGINEERS LOVE a challenge, and the engineers who are keeping the state Route 520 bridge afloat until it can be replaced have a big one.

    Designed to last until 2018, the bridge built in 1963 has seen its last retrofit. Past repairs and safety improvements have weighed it down almost past the point of no return.
