Cascadia Art Museum occupies half of what had been a 22,000-square-foot Safeway grocery store at 190 Sunset Ave. S. in Edmonds.
The high ceilings of the former store create expansive space for art. Flooring is Douglas fir end-grain blocks, part of the museum’s effort to use Northwest products.
Over each gallery entrance is a plaster relief sculpture Cascadia created from molds by Glen Alps from the University of Washington School of Art.
The museum exhibits about 200 works created by artists who were active in the Northwest from the mid-19th through the mid-20th centuries.
