Letter to the Editor: Pavers on Occidental better for feet and fish

(Re: "Time for cars on Occidental again?" DJC, Jan. 29) Thanks to our elders and betters...Henry Broderick...Alan Black, savior of Grand Central...we have a chance to keep some of the charm of Pioneer Square, at a historic low point now, reverted to skid row role.

What that street needs is a generous dose of solidly welcoming, warm-golden stone paving, as well as a handful of sturdy, truck-stopping granite or limestone containers. Removable bollards add flexibility, and instead of a curb, bollards can separate vehicular and pedestrian uses.
