Wang's practice is focused on American immigration law including employment visas and the EB-5 investment program. Long's practice focuses on trademark law, copyright law and tech transactions. The firm has offices in Portland and Seattle.

Ramirez joins Kidder Mathews

Nicholas Ramirez has joined the south Seattle office of Kidder Mathews and will specialize in industrial leasing and sales. Ramirez worked as a campaign manager for Bellevue City Councilmember Lynne Robinson and was a field organizer for U.S. Rep. Suzan DelBene, D-Medina. Kidder Mathews has more than 450 employees in nine offices in Washington, Oregon, and California. Annually the firm works on $2.9 billion in transactions, manages 29 million square feet and conducts 1,300 appraisals.

Vatske leads HFC multifamily division

The Washington State Housing Finance Commission hired Lisa Vatske to run the Multifamily Housing and Community Facilities division. Vatske brings more than 20 years of experience in housing and community development. She works as a program manager at the Office of Refugee and Immigrant Assistance under the state Department of Social and Health Services. Vatske starts May 1, replacing Steve Walker, who left the commission in January to lead the Seattle Office of Housing for Mayor Ed Murray. The commission has financed more than 97,000 low income apartments statewide.

CBRE gets financing for KBS deal

CBRE Capital Markets' debt and structured finance team, led by Val Achtemeier, arranged $141 million in financing for KBS Strategic Opportunities real estate investment trust, which bought Plaza Center and US Bank Plaza in Bellevue this year for $186 million. Beacon Capital Partners of Boston is the seller. CBRE secured a $111 million loan from Wells Fargo and a $30 million mezzanine loan from Principal Capital Management. Plaza Center is a 16-story structure at 10900 N.E. Eighth St. The 10-story US Bank Plaza is at 10800 N.E. Eighth St. Both are LEED silver and 82 percent leased.

Moravia moves office to Seattle

Moravia, a firm based in the Czech Republic that provides translation and localization services for global companies, said it has more than doubled its presence in the Seattle area. Moravia moved its local office from a 1,380-square-foot space in Factoria to a 4,650-square-foot space at 2033 Sixth Ave. in Seattle. The company has grown from 12 local employees at the end of 2013 to 26, and plans to continue hiring.

Stearns has 22 years of electrical engineering experience with higher education, municipal, federal, military, high-technology and commercial projects. Radics has 25 years of experience in consulting to Fortune 500 and 1000 companies. He works in telecommunications and electronics security, and serves enterprise and campus-oriented projects. Cawley has nine years of mechanical engineering experience on academic, institutional and high-tech projects. Reeser, a mechanical engineer, and Callahan, an electrical engineer, are providing services for Nordstrom. Clem has a background in telecommunications systems and works on financial, retail and high-tech facilities. Skiles works on technology-enriched projects on local, regional and international scales. Bultez, a telecom and electronic security specialist, supports K-12, institutional and commercial high-tech clients as a consultant lead. Fischer focuses on integrating telecom systems. Svee uses his knowledge of electrical and lighting systems on educational, health care, correctional and commercial projects. Llona has 30 years of industry experience. He leads mechanical engineering for academic, government, military and mission-critical projects, and specializes in central heating and cooling plants. Seattle-based Hargis provides mechanical, electrical, telecom and electronic security services.

Seattle-based EHS Design hired Anna Ratkoviak as an interior designer. Ratkoviak has experience in interior and production design. She holds a bachelor's degree in interior design from Washington State University. EHS provides architecture, interior design, space planning and strategic facilities planning.

Bellevue-based Wood Harbinger hired John Bartelink as director of technology consulting. Bartelink has more than 20 years of experience in technology and software systems. He has worked at NBBJ and CollinsWoerman, and most recently was with BlackPoint IT Services. He will determine what technology services Wood Harbinger will offer clients.

Trindera Engineering hired Curtis Gillespie as an electrical project engineer. Gillespie has more than 14 years of experience in business information systems, electrical design, systems development and AutoCAD design. Most recently, he was project engineer for Engineered Control Systems in Spokane. He will work on industrial, manufacturing and material handling projects. Trindera is an electrical and control systems engineering and consulting firm based in Spokane and Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

PacLand

PacLand hired Jason Jacobson as a project engineer in its Olympia headquarters. He has more than 10 years of experience with water and wastewater civil engineering. PacLand provides engineering and planning services.

Project Groundwork

Heather Ostenson, Project Groundwork's founding principal engineer, is leaving the firm to explore opportunities outside of the site design field. Project Groundwork said she has helped build its reputation since it was founded in 2007. Ostenson's work has focused on recreation, streetscapes and livable neighborhoods. With her departure, the firm will focus more on site design, landscape architecture and community planning, and will continue to offer design, planning, entitlement support and construction observation services. It will team with other firms on civil engineering.

The Blueline Group

The Blueline Group hired Jason McArdel as an engineer/inspector, Lee Tomkins as a CAD technician and Maggie Jones as marketing coordinator. McArdel has eight years of experience in geotechnical engineering and public works construction, and will work on public projects. Tomkins will use drafting in Civil 3d for residential, commercial and public projects. Jones will coordinate business development and marketing. Blueline provides civil engineering and planning services.

McMillen

McMillen hired Kelly Tilford as a senior hydropower consultant in its Boise office. Tilford has 30 years of experience in hydro engineering and construction. He will manage projects to strengthen McMillen's presence in hydroelectric design and construction in the western United States, Alaska and Canada. McMillen provides environmental and natural resources, engineering and construction services. It also has offices in Seattle, Vancouver and Bellingham; Portland; Wasilla, Alaska; and Kelowna, B.C.

Red Lion Hotels

Red Lion Hotels hired Angela Landgraf as senior vice president of business development to help expand into major U.S. markets through acquisitions and development. She will also work on hotel conversions. Landgraf has more than 20 years of business development and sales experience, and was senior vice president of business development and management for Richfield Hospitality. She also worked for Sage Hospitality, Starwood Hotels and Resorts, and InterContinental Hotel Group.

Modumetal

Modumetal, a Seattle-based manufacturer of nanolaminated metal alloys, named John Beaver chief financial officer. He was CFO of Silicor Materials and Sterling Chemicals. Modumetal said it is developing materials for structural, corrosion and high wear applications using an electrochemical manufacturing approach that reduces the cost and raw material consumption while improving performance.
