Ann M. Moe has been named director of business development at Northwestern Trust. She most recently ran her own consulting firm and has held positions at Shawmut Corp., Rainier Bank and Seafirst Bank.
Two key positions at Federal Home Loan Bank of Seattle have recently been filled. Kevin Crowe joined the bank as vice president and legal counsel in July. He previously was vice president and corporate counsel at Provident Savings Bank. Neill LeCorgne joined the bank as vice president and director of marketing and correspondent services in August. He was the former vice president and director of business development at Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta.
Darryl V. Wareham is a new associate at Williams, Kastner & Gibbs. Wareham previously practiced hospital pharmacy and received a J.D. degree from Seattle University. Wareham's practice focuses on land use, environmental and water law.
Spencer Bergstedt, Robert Clegg and Joel Wolff have formed the law firm of Bergstedt, Clegg & Wolff, PS. The firm's office is in Lynnwood and will focus on immigration, personal injury, bankruptcy and small business law
Baugh Enterprises has named Robert W. Babitsky president of Baugh Construction Co. in Seattle. Babitsky joined the company in 1978 as a project engineer after graduating from the University of Washington. Babitsky's executive team includes vice presidents John Hayduk, Curt Kraft and Scott Lee, and vice president/controller Mike Finney. Baugh Enterprises is a Skanska affiliated company.
Ben Shearer has joined W.G. Clark Construction as its director of business development. Shearer’s background includes 16 years of experience both as a marketing professional and project manager for other construction firms. Most recently, he was the division manager for a firm specializing in commercial, retail and restaurant tenant improvement projects. He has also supervised site development for an e-commerce firm, overseeing the construction of facilities across the nation.
Portland's 122-year-old hardware and plumbing distributor Chown Hardware has opened a showroom in Bellevue. The 3,000-square-foot facility is located in Brierwood Center, at the corner of 120th Avenue Northeast and Northeast 12th Street. The company claims it offers the largest selection of residential hardware and decorative bathroom fixtures in the Puget Sound area. The showroom is open 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday. Portland-based Liberty Northwest Insurance Corp. announced it will acquire Oregon Auto Insurance Co. along with its subsidiary North Pacific Insurance Co., pending regulatory approval. The companies are two of the largest regional insurers in the Northwest and offer workers compensation, property, casualty and personal lines. Combined, the two will have approximately $300 million in premium in Oregon, Washington and Idaho. North Pacific/Oregon Auto has offices in Bothell and Portland.
Laura Hamill has been promoted to vice president of marketing for Enbrel at Immunex. Prior to joining Immunex last year, she was executive vice president at Klemtner Advertising in New York.
The Seattle Star Wars Society will team up with Giggles Comedy Club in the University District to raise money for this year's toys for needy children holiday drive. Portland State University has added a graduate program in energy economics and policy. The program consists of four courses offered over four terms and will benefit from the university's proximity to three major utilities including the Bonneville Power Administration. The program is geared to graduates seeking employment in the energy field.
The Mountlake Terrace campus of the University of Phoenix is offering a Master of Business Administration in health care management beginning in October. The university is a regionally accredited, private, post-secondary institution with three Washington campuses in Southcenter, Bellevue and Mountlake Terrace.
