Canyon Creek Cabinet Co. of Monroe has been recognized for outstanding sales growth performance in the 12th Annual Wood 100 Report. The report profiles and ranks 100 fast-growing woodworking companies throughout the United States. Canyon Creek placed No. 62 in the report, with sales growth of 20 percent from 1999-2000. The 21-year-old company is a manufacturer of custom cabinetry and employs about 450 workers.

Bob Watt, president and CEO of the Greater Seattle Chamber of Commerce, has been named vice president of government and community relations at Boeing Commercial Airplanes. Watt will join Boeing in January and report to Alan Mulally, president and CEO. Watt has been president and CEO of the Greater Seattle Chamber of Commerce since 1995. He served for five years as deputy mayor of Seattle under Norm Rice and managing director of PhyCom Inc., a local software company he helped found in 1989. Watt was on the strategy teams of many community-wide efforts including retaining the Seattle Mariners, reviving downtown and passing the Sound Transit measure.
U.S. Bank in Seattle, has named the members of a new regional bank board that will assist senior management in Washington. Members are: Jimmy Barrier, president and CEO of Barrier Motors in Bellevue; Larry Benaroya of Benaroya Capital Co.; Jon Bridge, vice chairman of Ben Bridge Jewelers, Mack Hogans, senior vice president of Weyerhaeuser Co.; Phil Lalji, chairman and CEO of Zones, Inc. in Renton; H. Stewart Parker, president and CEO of Targeted Genetics; B. Corry McFarland, president and CEO of McFarland Cascade Holdings in Tacoma; Rick Redman, chairman of Sellen Construction; and Stephen Sundborg, S.J., president of Seattle University.
Betsy Hall is the new vice president of U.S. sales at N2H2. Hall worked in sales at WRQ, LizardTech and Else Ware Corp. N2H2 is a Seattle-based company specializing in filtering solutions to optimize Web access.
The University of Phoenix, Washington announced an agreement with Bellevue Community College for its Bachelor of Science in Management degree program. The agreement allows community college students a seamless transition to the University of Phoenix by accepting associate degree credits earned from community colleges participating in the program. Other colleges in the program include North Seattle, Seattle Central, South Seattle and Tacoma community colleges. Agreements with several other area community and technical colleges are in the works.
Doug Floyd has been appointed to the new position of ombudsman at The Spokesman-Review in Spokane. Floyd joined the staff of the Spokane Daily Chronicle in 1969 which merged with The Spokesman-Review in 1983. Floyd will serve as a readers' watchdog on the newspaper's reporting and editing practices.
Aptimus appointed Robert W. Wrubel to its board of directors. Wrubel formerly served as CEO, president and director of Ask Jeeves and is currently an entrepreneur in residence of Highland Capital Partners. Aptimus, based in Seattle, develops and maintains an online direct response network which presents consumers with offers geared to their immediate interests.
McLendon Hardware was selected as October's Business of the Month as part of the Better Business Bureau/U.S. Bank Business of the Year Awards program. McLendon Hardware is a family-owned and operated company, established in 1926. The Renton-based company has stores in several cities including Kent, Puyallup, Renton, White Center and Sumner
