The South Snohomish County Chamber of Commerce has chosen Jean Hales as president/CEO. Hales has 11 years experience with the chamber and was interim president since July.
Kitsap County was awarded the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award by the Government Finance Officers Association of the U.S. and Canada. The association also presented a Certificate of Recognition for Budget Presentation to William D. Nogle, director, department of administrative services. The award is given in recognition for commitment and proficiency in governmental budgeting.
Verizon Wireless has named Wilhelmina Coar manager of direct business sales in Washington. Coar will be responsible for sales plans and market strategies as well as managing a team of business account representatives. She most recently served as a business sales manager for VoiceStream Wireless in Bothell.
Philippe Sanchez is the new senior vice president of marketing at Getty Images. Sanchez will replace Sally von Bargen, who will retire at the end of the year. Sanchez previously led Nike's footwear business in the Americas. Seattle-based Getty creates, sources and distributes images and related services
Brokers at Marcus & Millichap sold a six-unit apartment building on Capitol Hill and a four-unit building in West Seattle.
Buyer Mike Riddell paid seller Rodney Wong $668,000 for the six-unit structure at 1032 Lakeview Blvd. E. Brokers Dan Swanson and Dean Smith arranged that deal.
Fesseha Tesfai paid Karl Igloi and Dennis Shute $272,000 for the four-unit Sherwood Apartments at 10751 16th Ave. S.W. Broker George Miller assembled that sale.
Richard Muhlebach, by then back from teaching commercial real estate practices in Poland, will talk about Europe and Asia at Commercial Real Estate Women's Thursday, Dec. 13, lunch meeting. Muhlebach, a long-time Seattle-area property manager, is a senior managing director for Kennedy Wilson Property's Northwest region. He headed TRF Management Corp. for 19 years before it was sold to Kennedy Wilson. He'll talk to CREW about real estate practices, challenges and opportunities in Europe and Asia.
