Office of U.S. Representative Jay Inslee

U.S. Rep. Jay Inslee has appointed Kennie Endelman as his new district director. Endelman will oversee Inslee's local congressional offices located in Mountlake Terrace and Poulsbo. Endelman has worked as special assistant to Inslee since his 1998 election. Inslee will replace Michael Mann who has accepted a position as director of council relations for Seattle Mayor Greg Nickels.

The Rockey Co.

The Rockey Co. has promoted Dale Gluck to senior vice president. Gluck has been with the company for three years and has served a wide range of corporate clients. He also teaches in the public relations certificate program for University of Washington Extension.

Union Station Café

The Union Station Café will celebrate its grand opening in block-party style Jan. 23-25. The café serves espresso, pastries, soups and sandwiches. It is located in the concourse of Union Station. Fred Maxie is the owner and operator and Scott Laigo is the general manager.

West Coast Bank

West Coast Bank named Gordon L. Osberg vice president and relationship manager for its Olympia business banking team. Osberg will manage a portfolio specializing in commercial and construction real estate lending for the Thurston/Pierce County area. Osberg most recently served as vice president at Heritage Bank

Wolfstone, Panchot & Bloch

Wolfstone, Panchot & Bloch recently named Steve Ross a shareholder. Ross focuses his practice on labor and employment issues. He is also a pro bono attorney for the Northwest Immigration Rights Project.

Preston Gates Ellis

New partners joining the Seattle office of Preston Gates Ellis are: Hilary Buckley Domeika, Sam Z. Haviland, Christopher L. Hirst, Michael Kelley, John R. Lange, David J. Lenci, Norman S. Milks and Christopher G. Weinstein.

Belltown Community Services Office

The Belltown Community Services Office will move to the Pioneer Square location of the Department of Social and Health Services at 101 S. King St. in June 2002. The same social services will be available at the new location after the move and Ann Ballard will remain as the administrator of the office.

Creative Children's Guild

The Creative Children's Guild is seeking volunteers to work with underprivileged and socially challenged youth aboard the pirate ship Brigantine Sultana. The Sultana is a replica of an early American tall ship and is relocating to Seattle this spring from San Francisco. The Children's Guild is looking for instructors, crew and sponsors to work onboard the ship. The Children's Guild can be reached at (877) 465-0771.

Washington Association of Wheat Growers

The Washington Association of Wheat Growers installed Bruce Nelson as president, Roger Wesselman as vice president and Ron Jirava as secretary-treasurer for 2002. The association serves as the primary advocate for Washington state wheat growers.

Pet's Choice

Mark Freiberg recently received American Board of Veterinary Practitioners certification as a companion animal veterinary practitioner. Freiberg is the medical team leader at Rose Hill Animal Hospital and Kingsgate Veterinary Hospital, both located in Kirkland. The hospitals are part of the Pet's Choice network of 51 animal hospitals located in Arizona, Oklahoma, Texas and Washington.

Western Washington University

George "Pinky" Nelson has joined the faculty of Western Washington University as the new director of science, math and technology. Nelson is a former astronaut with more than 400 hours of space time logged on three shuttle missions from 1984-1988. Most recently he served as the director of Project 2061, a national initiative to reform K-12 science, mathematics and technology education at the American Association for the Advancement of Science in Washington, D.C.

HomeStreet Bank

HomeStreet Bank's Eastside branches have made recent contributions to three local organizations. The branches made contributions of $5,000 to both the Bellevue Boys and Girls Club and the Eastside Domestic Violence Program and a $2,000 contribution to the Lake Heights YMCA. HomeStreet contributes 2 percent of it's annual pre-tax profits to organizations in its communities.
