Miller Nash

Miller Nash named Heather K. Cavanaugh an associate in its Vancouver office and Leslie M. Griffith an associate in its Seattle office. Cavanaugh joins the firm's litigation department, with a focus on general business litigation and land use matters. Griffith joins the firm's business department, with a focus on health care and general business law. Previously, Griffith worked in the defense and electronics systems center for Westinghouse Electric Corp. Cavanaugh recently received her law degree from the University of Oregon.

Washington Public Ports Association

The Washington Public Ports Association selected the Port of Sunnyside as Port of the Year, for its efforts to sustain business and attract new companies. The association also named Judy DeVaul, of DeVaul Publishing in Lewis County and Port of Chehalis commissioner, as its new president. Dianne Sherwood, executive director of the Port of Klickitat, was awarded a scholarship from WPPA's educational foundation to be used for advanced management training.

The Seattle Foundation

Anne V. Farrell will retire as the Seattle Foundation president/CEO. Farrell has been with the Seattle Foundation since 1980, when she joined as executive vice president. Under Farrell's guidance, the Seattle Foundation endowment has grown from $10 million to $307 million. She served as the first female president for the Seattle Rotary, Rainier Club and The Nature Conservancy of Washington. She will stay with the foundation until June 2003.

Wells Fargo

Doug Belton has been named manager of the Wells Fargo Oak Harbor store. Belton was, most recently, manager of a Wells Fargo store in Mesa, Ariz. He will lead an eight-member team at the Oak Harbor store.

Glacier Bay

Glacier Bay Cruiseline named Gary Hibma as its new president. Hibma was previously Glacier's CFO. He will replace Greg Dronkert who is leaving to focus on his consulting firm, Pacific Navigation.

Developer panel next at NAIOP

The Dec. 18 year-end meeting of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties will feature a panel of developers offering insights and strategies for 2003. The moderator will be Richard Leider, president, Trinity Real Estate. Panelists will include Tom Parsons, vice president, OPUS NW; Dan Ivanoff, principal, Schnitzer Northwest; and Ric Anderson, Washington Holdings. Its will be held at the Bellevue Club, 11200 S.E. Sixth, beginning with registration and networking at 7 a.m. Reservations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis and this meeting usually sells out.
